🦔 Did you know? Hedgehogs are lactose intolerant — so milk can actually make them very poorly. Fresh water is always the safest option for our prickly little visitors 💚

Lucy has been helping us get ready for a busy half term here at Hopefield Boarding for Small Animals 🐹💛

As one of our resident guinea pigs, she’s been supervising the hay supplies, checking the cosy spaces are up to standard, and making sure we’re ready to welcome all our holiday guests!

We’re now almost FULL for half term boarding, so if you need care for your rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or other small animals, please get in touch as soon as possible to secure your space. 🐰🐭🐹

Shelly is one of the rescued tortoises who now calls Hopefield Animal Sanctuary home 💚 After being given a second chance, she spends her days enjoying tasty leafy treats, warm sunshine, and lots of care from our dedicated team.

Hamilton the Syrian hamster has checked in to Hopefield Boarding for Small Animals 🐹✨

He’s wasted no time settling into his cosy digs—sampling the snacks, fluffing the bedding just right, and keeping a close eye on everything (quality control is important).

Guinea pigs: small body, big opinions 🐹✨

Did you know:

🐹 They can’t make their own vitamin C (just like us!)
🐹 They “popcorn” (little happy jumps) when they’re excited
🐹 They’re highly social and thrive on companionship
🐹 They can recognise their owners and get excited to see you

Which basically means…
If you’re missing your guinea pig at work, they’re probably missing you too 👀

So honestly, leaving early because you miss your guinea pig?
