As the Weather Gets Colder, Don’t Forget to Keep Your Dog Warm! ❄️🌨️

With the temperatures dropping, this is your reminder to bring along a towel robe, or coat for your dog after their hydrotherapy session. 🐾💦

Even though they have a thick coat of fur, being slightly damp and heading outside can make them susceptible to stiffness and discomfort. We do our best to dry your dog thoroughly after each session, but they won’t be completely dry, and exposure to the cold weather can undo all the good work we’ve done in the pool.

Walking out into the cold in a damp state can cause further strain on their muscles and overall health. To keep your furry friend comfortable and healthy, we strongly recommend bringing a towel robe, or coat to their appointment. 💖

If you haven’t already, now’s the perfect time to purchase one! You can find great options at your local pet shop or online through Amazon. 🛍️

Meet Alvin the Shih Tzu!

Alvin has just started attending our puppy swim sessions, which are perfect for young pups to build confidence in and around water while learning basic swimming techniques. As we all know, not all dogs are natural swimmers, so these sessions are a great way to help them feel safe and comfortable in the water. 🐾💦

Alvin did fantastically during his first session—he didn’t take long to become comfortable in the pool and showed great potential! Currently, he’s working on focusing and engaging during the session, but we’re confident that with some patience and the right motivator—whether it’s a special toy or some tasty treats—he’ll improve in no time. 🐶👏🏻

Meet Daisy the Golden Retriever!

Daisy is here for hydrotherapy to help support her recovery. Daisy recently had her first cruciate surgery and is working with us to strengthen her other leg in preparation for her next procedure. 🏥🐶

Daisy was a little timid during her first session, especially with the ramps, but once she was in the pool, she started to feel more comfortable. She threw herself into her exercises with determination, guided by our caring therapists. Over the course of the session, we saw Daisy’s confidence grow steadily — it was lovely to see! 🐾💦

We’re looking forward to continuing this journey with Daisy, helping her increase her strength and ensuring she feels safe and supported every step of the way. 👏🏻💖

Meet Flossie the French Bulldog!

Flossie is here to receive hydrotherapy for rehabilitation and maintenance following a diagnosis of IVDD. She’s currently making great progress in her recovery, and we’re thrilled to support her journey to better strength and stability.

Before hydrotherapy, Flossie had never swum and was understandably nervous. With our caring team and her owner by her side, she did wonderfully on her first visit. 💖

Fast forward to her second session, and wow — Flossie came in with such confidence, it was like a whole new dog! Although she was still a little unsure at first, it didn’t take long for her to relax and enjoy her exercises with our therapists’ guidance. Her owner was delighted to see Flossie’s newfound confidence and progress, and we couldn’t be happier to be part of her recovery. 🐾💦

We’re excited to continue working with Flossie and help her regain her balance and strength.

While we don’t have a treadmill at our centre, don’t worry – we can still provide exceptional hydrotherapy treatment tailored to your dog’s needs!

Instead of a treadmill, we utilize our pool and specifically designed pods to mimic the platform of a treadmill—without the motorized belt. This means we’re not forcing your dog to move but encouraging natural movement through positive reinforcement techniques. Our fully qualified team use these tools in a safe, controlled environment to support your dog’s recovery and mobility.

Although treadmills are good for gait re-education, our pool-based approach offers unique benefits that go above and beyond. In the pool, your dog can achieve full range of motion during non-weight bearing exercise, which is fantastic for increasing muscle strength and improving mobility. Plus, we can customise each session to be as gentle or as intensive as needed, making it suitable for dogs at all stages of recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Meet Pablo the Borderdoodle!

Pablo is attending hydrotherapy sessions for confidence-building purposes. His owner hopes that with gentle guidance, Pablo can learn to enjoy the water.

Pablo is a sensitive boy who can find new experiences a bit overwhelming, which is completely understandable. As a team, we always take things at the dog’s pace, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable every step of the way. 💖

During his first session, Pablo did an absolutely amazing job! With a handful of cocktail sausages, he worked alongside our therapists, slowly gaining confidence and becoming more comfortable with the structure of the session. While he’s developed a fear of being showered- making bath time tricky at home- we used positive reinforcement to help him build trust and confidence around it. It was a bit stressful for him, so we made sure not to push too far — we’ll continue working on this to help him feel less fearful over time. 🚿

The good news? Pablo had no hesitation when it came to the pool! By the end of his session, he was more comfortable and focused on improving his swimming technique — transitioning from front wheel drive to four wheel drive! 🐾💦

We’re excited to see Pablo again soon for round 2, and we look forward to helping him enjoy his hydrotherapy journey even more. 🐶👏🏻

Meet Neville the Dachshund!

Neville is here to help with his weight loss journey, and he’s also working on building muscle and strengthening his joints through gentle hydrotherapy sessions.

Neville is a special pup who is blind, which means he needs a safe and controlled environment to feel comfortable and confident. His loving owner chose us because they knew our team provides just that — a warm, caring space where Neville can enjoy his therapy.

When Neville first started his session, he was a little timid and nervous. But with patience, gentle guidance, and lots of love, he quickly found his voice — and by the end, he was demanding treats for being such a good boy! Our therapists took their time to show Neville that the pool is a fun and calming place. 🐾💦

We’re so proud of Neville’s progress already and can’t wait to continue supporting him on his journey to better health and well-being. 🐶👏🏻
