Quick emergency vet visit for Edna this morning.
It is a worry with any swelling around the face or neck.
I'm traumitized as usual & Edna's not bothered. 🙄

The Parasol is up at the far end.
Please remember to put them down again when you've finished with them.

I've realised the temp bench that we put up there while I painted the other one, has no parasol hole🤦‍♀️ & our little trailer is currently out of action so I'm trying think of a way to get the proper bench back up there that doesn't involve me & Darren having to carry it that far. 😆

The weather is looking to be quite hot at times over the next week. Please do check the weather for Wrangle, we are usually a little cooler than further inland but if you think its going to be too hot for your dogs we can reschedule no problem.
Our early morning and later evening slots are a great way to beat the heat.

I've been watching the Swallows zipping in & out of the large shelter for the past two weeks. I didn't think there was enough of a ledge for them to consider nesting but nature likes to make a fool of us.
Yesterday we saw that they have actually built a lovely little nest on the inside above the door entrance.
My immediate thoughts were to block the shelter off & keep dogs and people out while they are in there, but doing some reading they can cram in 2 or 3 broods a season & that would be a long time for the shelter to be out of action during the hot weather. They've also chosen the spot regardless of the people and dogs coming and going over the last 2 weeks or more.
So, we are going to monitor the situation, we've moved the water container over to the little shelter & I'll be keeping an eye with the camera. For those that visit during their nesting, we ask that you be respectful, use the shelter only if necessary.
Nature needs all the help it can get nowadays. We've watched the number of Swallows & small birds decline in the few years that we've lived here & we would like to help them even in a small way.

We have a hot spell coming up and if the winds drop a bit we can get the gazebo out early for additional shade plus the parasols will be out too.
