A massive well done to Reggie and Roxi. These two and their owners have worked so hard and they have absolutely blown our expectations out the window. A massive well done team.
There was another frenchie and Samoyed in class at start of block we wish little Minnie well on her recovery after a back issue she is a great dog and was doing amazing in class and we hope to bump into her in near future and Sora being a girl came into her season halfway through we always offer something to clients for future classes if dogs end up ill or girls come into season so we are seeing Sora very soon after her season finishes at our outdoor classes. ❤️

Well done to our outdoor class. These dogs are all working towards their kc Bronze good citizens assessment alothough this is not an exercise that’s required we thought we would mix things up. On the plastic wallets we got owners to draw the first letter of dogs name in treats building resilience in dogs around food is always a good exercise with the amount of toxins and dangerous edibles about. For every treat that got put down the dogs got rewarded with something of equal value all the way to the point they weren’t interested. If your taking something away or expecting your dog not to touch something which it really wants make sure to reward with something of greater value or equal ❤️

Kinga recently attended our training classes with her new pup. Kinga is absolutely lovely and although she’s never groomed my dogs would more than happily have them groomed by her. The way she is and handles her own dogs speaks volumes to me as it should anyone that cares for there beloved pet. ❤️ checked out her grooms using the link below

At Sit4it Dog Training we take a very collaborative, owner-focused approach to dog training. Our main goal is to ensure both dog and owner have an enjoyable learning experience together. This helps build confidence and a true partnership between the two.
Our variety of class options caters to dogs at different life stages and skill levels. Puppy life-skills classes lay a crucial foundation for young dogs to thrive in the world. Meanwhile, the beginner classes help adult dogs and their owners master the fundamentals, whether they are just starting out or working to progress to a higher level.
The Kennel Club Good Citizens program is a structured, progressive curriculum that teaches owners and dogs the complete set of exercises required to achieve Bronze, Silver, and Gold certification. Having assessments conducted by external judges ensures an objective evaluation of the team's abilities.
Across all classes, we maintain a low student-to-trainer ratio, with two experienced instructors present. This allows for personalized attention and support to address each participant's unique needs and challenges.
Sit4it also offers individual training sessions for those who may not be suited to the group class environment. This flexible approach demonstrates our commitment to meeting the diverse requirements of our clients and their canine companions.
Our next puppy life skills begins 29th July 630pm and is a 6 week block costing £100
Beginners also starts on 29th July 730pm and is a 6 week block costing £100

🌡️ Record Temperatures Expected — A Vital Warning for Dog Owners Attending P in the Park & Dalkeith Agricultural Show

Tomorrow brings two fantastic local events — P in the Park and the Dalkeith Agricultural Show— both welcoming dogs and offering a great day out for families across Midlothian.

However, with temperatures forecasted to break UK records, it’s crucial to consider the impact on our canine companions.

Earlier this week, during what felt like milder conditions, I took my dogs out in the evening. Just 20 minutes into the walk, my youngest, Ash, collapsed from heat exhaustion at only 23°C. Thankfully she recovered, but Saturday’s forecast exceeds 29°C — and that's dangerously high for dogs.

🐾 Before heading out, please reflect:
- Are these conditions safe for a dog that wears a fur coat every day?
- Could they be more comfortable and safer at home?

Veterinary advice is clear: heatstroke can be fatal. If suspected, douse your dog with cold water and seek urgent care. Vet treatment can be costly, but more importantly, delayed response could be tragic.

✅ If you do take your dog:
- Attend early to avoid peak temperatures
- Recognize the signs of heatstroke
- Have your vet’s contact details ready — there will be vets present on site at both events

Let’s enjoy everything our community has to offer tomorrow — safely and responsibly. Your dog’s wellbeing should never be a secondary thought.

There are some great products you can purchase to keep your dogs cool such as cooling vests etc these products are great but do not guarrantee your pets safety in extreme heat.

Enjoy your weekend
Steven & Theresa
