Jaxon joined our family eight years ago after finding his forever home through Cats Protection, and from the very beginning, he made it clear he was far more than just a cat.

Affectionate, gentle and full of personality, Jaxon believes everyone deserves love, attention and the occasional determined head bump โ€” including Wilson and Betty, who regularly receive his enthusiastic greetings whether they expect them or not.

One of Jaxonโ€™s favourite habits is making โ€œair biscuits,โ€ happily kneading away in complete contentment after a cosy nap or a good meal. He is also incredibly food motivated, with tuna and Dreamies treats guaranteed to get his attention instantly.

Over the years, Jaxon has become a much-loved part of our family. His affectionate nature, loyal companionship and endless supply of cuddles make him completely unforgettable.

This weekend, Bolton will be hosting the IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton events, with various road closures in place from Friday 5th June to Sunday 7th June.

We remain open as usual throughout the weekend, and our team will continue to provide support 24 hours a day.

However, if you require a collection from an address located within, or affected by, the road closure routes, please be aware that collection times may be delayed due to restricted access and traffic diversions.

We will do everything possible to minimise any delays and will keep families updated if travel disruption affects our arrival time.

Families are being asked to sign cremation paperwork before or shortly after euthanasia โ€” usually during one of the most emotional and overwhelming moments imaginable.

And very often, people donโ€™t fully realise what they are agreeing to.

Many pet owners are unaware that:

Betty is the second of our much-loved office dogs at Rainbow Bridge and a very special part of our team and family.

As a gentle and affectionate Cockapoo, Betty is often by our side offering quiet comfort and companionship to the families we support. She has a remarkably calm nature and seems to instinctively know when someone needs a little extra reassurance, often sitting patiently nearby or offering a comforting cuddle.

Betty is also a registered Pets As Therapy dog and has a wonderful ability to bring comfort to people during emotional moments. Many families who visit Rainbow Bridge quickly form a connection with her, and her calming presence can make an incredibly difficult day feel just that little bit easier.

Whether sheโ€™s greeting visitors, relaxing in the office or supporting us during appointments, Betty plays an important role in the compassionate environment we strive to create every day.

When we first introduced our Memory Wall, we hoped it would become a special place where families could celebrate and remember the pets who have meant so much to them.

Today, we're incredibly proud to say that 42 of the 81 available spaces have now been reserved.

Each tile tells a story. A loyal friend. A constant companion. A much-loved member of the family who will never be forgotten.

Seeing the wall grow week by week has been incredibly moving, and we're honoured that so many families have chosen to remember their pets in this way.

For those who may not know, our personalised 8" x 8" Photo Tiles cost just ยฃ10 and include a donation to Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter, helping support animals still waiting for their forever homes.

There are now just 39 spaces remaining, and once the wall is full, we won't be able to add any more tiles.
