This is NEVER the easy option for a groomer.
I've seen so many posts recently slagging off "lazy" groomers for shaving down.

When mats form, they compact close to the skin and only shorter blades can get under them meaning a short cut is the only option. Brushing them out is impossible and more importantly, inhumane.
Using sharp tools so close to the skin requires additional skill and time as the skin is pulled tight by the matting so nicks are very easily done.

I will never ever judge a matted dog. Life is busy and dogs are wriggley 😂 I will always do what's best for the dog and will work with owners to find the best routine for them. I love nothing more than a big fluffy teddy bear cut so if I do a shave down, you know it's either necessary or by owners request.

This lovely owner knew that her pup was getting a fresh start today and understands that hair grows back! 🥰
When you're talking about a dog groomer, lazy doesn't ever come into it! This is a hard, tiring job and we put our heart and soul into it 🐾
