‼️WARNING ‼️ suspected blue-green algae at Platinum Jubilee Country Park, Chichester!! 🦠
Sadly a puppy has recently died of suspected blue-green algae from the waters at Platinum Jubilee Park in Chichester.
Blue-green algae is made up of several bacteria that live in water. Certain types of this algae, produce toxins that can be poisonous to wildlife, humans and dogs.
We advise avoiding the park area or at minimum keeping your dogs on the lead and away from the water.
Symptoms can vary and range from dribbling, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhoea to effects on the organs, leading to organ failure.
If you suspect your dog may have come in to contact with blue-green algae, wash the area immediately and contact your vets.
