We want to highlight the serious disadvantages of using online pet-sitting platforms like Rover. Many people don’t realise that some boarders on these sites are NOT properly licensed, despite claiming they are.

We’ve just dealt with a heartbreaking case - Reggie the beagle, who went missing after his boarder lost him and then lied about when, where and how it happened. This boarder quickly washed their hands of any responsibility and carried on as if nothing happened. Shockingly, this is the second time the same boarder has l0st a dog in their care that we have helped with.

👉 Please check if a boarder is licensed - you can verify this on your local council’s website.
👉 ALWAYS ask to see their licence and insurance documents - any reputable boarder will happily show you.
👉 If someone refuses or makes excuses, that’s a huge red flag - they have something to hide.

We want to make it clear: we are not blaming Reggie’s owners - they fully support this post to help protect other dogs and owners. Platforms like Rover do not verify licences - anyone can sign up and start taking dogs with no checks.

We are also not talking about your friends boarding without a licence, only companies taking money for this.

It is a criminal offence to board dogs without a licence, and this case has been reported to the council and police.

💔 Please be vigilant — this is your family member. Do your checks, ask questions and don’t be afraid to walk away if something doesn’t feel right.

Let’s protect our dogs from preventable tragedies like this. 🐾✨

If you are currently boarding in Stewarton we urge you to check it’s licensed! If not look at getting your dog asap. We know there’s other there.

Last weeks doggies 🐾
Last week I had Poppy join me while her usual walker was on holiday. Poppy got to meet Nala and George and she was best of friends with both of them immediately 🥰
Pablo is with me for his holidays at the moment too and we have been finding new walks together.
