🐾 Welcome to the Pack, Tor!

Today we officially welcomed the gorgeous Tor to the Salt & Fur family!

Tor’s mum reached out to arrange a meet & greet as she’s a wonderfully energetic and excitable girl who can find being around other dogs a little overwhelming at times. The goal is to build her confidence through positive experiences and gentle socialisation in a safe, controlled environment.

For her first outing, Tor joined me and Hunter for a calm “get to know you” walk – and she absolutely smashed it! 🌟 She settled in beautifully, enjoyed exploring at her own pace, and started building trust with both of us.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing van adventures and using a long line to work on her recall, confidence and social skills, helping her become the best version of herself while having plenty of fun along the way. 🐕💚

We can’t wait to watch Tor’s journey unfold – welcome to the pack, sweetheart! 🐾

From splashing in streams and exploring woodland trails to sniffing out new scents along the Cornish coast, our Adventure Days are packed with fun, enrichment and plenty of wagging tails.

Every outing is carefully planned with your dog’s wellbeing in mind, including rest breaks, fresh water, shade when needed, and of course lots of opportunities to play, explore and make new furry friends. 🧡

We absolutely love seeing our regular adventurers grow in confidence and excitement every time the van arrives! If your pup has joined us before, let us know their favourite adventure spot in the comments or share a photo below. 📸

🐾 Hello from Salt & Fur! 🐾

It’s been a little while since I’ve introduced myself in the local groups, so I thought I’d pop back in and say hello!

I’m Rob, owner of Salt & Fur, a local dog walking, adventure day and mobile grooming service based near Bodmin and covering Wadebridge, Newquay and surrounding areas.

Over the last few months we’ve welcomed lots of new dogs to the pack and spent our days exploring Cornwall’s beautiful woods, beaches, trails and countryside. From group walks and solo adventures to full Adventure Days, every outing is tailored to make sure your dog has plenty of fun, enrichment, exercise and rest along the way.

Say hello to Chester, a handsome 4-year-old Australian Kelpie who joined the Salt & Fur pack this week! 💙

Chester has already enjoyed his very first Adventure Day with us, and it’s safe to say he settled in brilliantly. Kelpies are known for their intelligence, energy and love of being active, so our adventure days are the perfect way for Chester to explore new places, enjoy plenty of enrichment, make new friends and burn off some energy in a safe and fun environment.

🐾 Competition Winner Floki’s Adventure Day! 🐾

Yesterday, competition winner Floki joined us for his Salt & Fur Adventure Day – and what a day we had! 🐶

With the warmer weather, we made the most of some beautiful shaded woodland walks, plenty of paddles in the stream to keep cool, and of course a well-earned doggy picnic along the way 🧺💦

From splashing through the water to exploring new scents and making memories, Floki embraced every moment and absolutely loved his day out with us. 🐾

Adventure Days are all about giving dogs the opportunity to explore, socialise, exercise and enjoy enriching experiences in some of Cornwall’s most beautiful locations.

With the temperatures rising this week, we’ve been loving the cooler shaded walks through Bishops Woods 🌿🐾

It’s one of our favourite local spots for early morning and evening adventures thanks to:
• Beautiful shaded woodland trails
• Streams & river areas for dogs to cool off 💦
• Peaceful scenic walks away from the busy beaches
• Perfect enrichment for adventurous dogs

A great reminder that during hot weather, cooler woodland walks and water breaks are so important for keeping dogs safe and comfortable 🐶

☀️🐶 BANK HOLIDAY HEATWAVE ALERT 🐶☀️

With temperatures rising across Cornwall this bank holiday weekend, Salt & Fur will be adapting walks to keep all our pups safe, cool & happy 💙🐾

What feels warm to us can quickly become dangerous for dogs, especially puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds and dogs with thicker coats. Heatstroke can happen fast — so safety always comes first.

This weekend we’ll be focusing on:
🐾 Earlier morning & later evening walks
🐾 Shadier woodland & coastal routes
🐾 Plenty of water breaks & rest stops
🐾 Slower paced adventures
🐾 Avoiding hot pavements & peak heat

If the ground is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws ☀️

Please don’t worry if walks need adjusting or shortening over the weekend — your dog’s wellbeing will always be our priority. Sometimes a cool rest day is far safer than risking overheating 🐶💦

Stay safe, keep hydrated and enjoy the sunshine responsibly ☀️
