I can’t believe I can say I’ve been nominated for:

Especially considering I’ve only been grooming for 3 years and competing for just 1.

I’ve spent so much time over the last few years building my skills, learning as much as I can, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone - particularly with competitions this past year.

☀️🐶 PROTECT YOUR DOG FROM HEAT STROKE 🐶☀️

As the weather warms up, it’s so important to keep our dogs safe, cool & comfortable

Dogs can overheat very quickly — especially puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds and fluffy coats ✂️🐾

Here are some simple ways to keep your pup cool this summer:

💧 Always provide fresh, cool water
🌳 Walk early morning or later evening
🚫 Never leave dogs in parked cars
🧊 Use cooling mats, shade & frozen treats
✂️ Regular grooming helps remove excess coat and improves airflow
🐶 Watch for signs of heatstroke:
• Heavy panting
• Excessive drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or vomiting

⚠️ If you think your dog is overheating:
Move them somewhere cool, offer water, and contact your vet immediately.

Yesterday my nervous, reactive poodle Bounty and I competed at the and while we didn’t place, I honestly couldn’t be prouder of him. 🩶✂️

Dog grooming competitions are loud, busy, overwhelming environments full of strangers, dogs, clippers, dryers, movement, and constant handling. Basically a nightmare setting for a dog who finds the world difficult sometimes. But he showed up, trusted me, and handled it all far better than I ever could’ve hoped for.

He stood beautifully, let judges and strangers touch and assess him for feedback, and stayed focussed through every stressful moment.

People only see the finished groom sometimes, but for me this competition was about so much more than ribbons or placements. It was about confidence, teamwork, trust, and celebrating progress that I never thought would be possible.

So no placement this time which I didn’t expect with the talent surrounding me, but I’m going home ridiculously proud of my little poodle and with a new competition dog 🐩

Bounty is all nice and squeaky clean and prepped ready for tomorrow 🐶✨

This is a huge deal for Bounty as he is quite a nervous dog, so we are going to do our best and I’ll be proud of him no matter what ❤️

I’m not in it to try and place — I’m in it to get feedback and to make sure we both have a good time, because I would love to share this experience with him like I do Twix. So let’s do this! 💪🐾

Gorgeous boy Ozzy came for his first groom with me last week 🐶✨

He’s Ralph’s brother, but they are two completely different personalities! Ralph is nervous and needs lots of patience, whereas Ozzy is crazy, loving, and full of energy ❤️

I absolutely love these two boys and can’t wait to continue grooming them both.

Happy National Dog Mum Day to all the amazing dog mums out there 💕🐾

Running a dog grooming business solo means every wag, cuddle, and happy tail is extra special ✂️🐶 But you dog mums trusting me with your pets is what makes it all worth it.
