This is such a sad post to write 😢
We urgently need your help, for anyone that has visited you’ll notice that the number of animals here is dwindling. As an animal rescue, we take in unwanted and abused animals and they remain with us until their last day, this unfortunately means that a lot of the animals here are older and frail, and in a very short space of time we have lost Victor and Timmy our last 2 sheep, Delores one of our beloved llamas, Jenny May one of our sweet donkeys and Jack, our wee old Shetland 😭😭 this hits us hard, these animals are our pets and every single loss takes its toll.
Then we have the bills that follow- many of you will be aware that it’s expensive to put these animals to sleep, we wouldn’t have it any other way as we make sure every animal goes peacefully and with dignity, and we give them everything we can. But we need help to cover the cost of these bills, there’s not just the cost of the euthanasia but also having the animal uplifted with dignity after.
Then we still have the rising costs of feeding and bedding, along with the things that no one thinks of like insurance, electricity etc. We have received very little in the way of funding over the past year and it looks like this will be much less again this year.
Please help! We understand that we have less animals to see, we would like to bring more in but we won’t do this unless we can guarantee to have enough income to properly care for them, and donations are few and far between when people visit. So if you pop by please consider leaving a donation in the bucket, we certainly aren’t paved with gold but every penny goes directly to caring for the animals.
You can also donate to us via bank transfer, or PayPal, the details go both are below.
Please give what you can, next year would be the 50th birthday for the farm and with your help we hope to make it that far!
