Another great stay with Bear 🐾🐶

I stayed with Bear for boarding alongside his regular walks, making sure he kept his routine, exercise and structure while his owners were away 🐕‍🦺

During his stay, we worked on:
🐾 Loose lead walking
🐾 Engagement
🐾 Structured exercise and stimulation

Whether it’s dog walking, boarding or behaviour work, every dog is treated as an individual and worked at the level they need 🐶🐾

Today Duke worked on calm engagement, focus around distractions, and controlled behaviour in different environments.

We focused on:

* Neutrality around people and dogs
* Loose lead walking
* Name response and check-ins
* Calm behaviour before movement and rewards
* Building confidence while keeping structure

Duke is progressing well and starting to make better choices without needing constant correction. Consistency, clear boundaries, and rewarding calm behaviour are making a big difference already.

Lovely session today working with Bambi 🐾

We focused on helping him feel more comfortable and confident in his environment, taking things at his pace and building positive associations with the world around him. We also started some structured work around reducing his reactivity to other dogs, giving him clearer guidance and helping him stay calm in situations he would usually find overwhelming.

Bambi showed some really nice progress today he’s a sensitive boy, but with the right approach he’s more than capable of learning how to cope and make better choices 🐶

Big credit to his owner for putting the work in consistency will be key, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop 👏

Dogs don’t see in black and white but their vision is very different to ours, and it affects behaviour more than people think.

Dogs only have two colour receptors, so their vision is similar to red-green colour blindness. They mainly see:

* Blue
* Yellow
* Grey

Colours like red, green, and orange don’t stand out they blend into the background. So that red ball on grass isn’t as obvious to your dog as it is to you.

From a behaviour point of view, this matters.

If a dog struggles with engagement, recall to a toy, or finding something during training, it’s not always disobedience they may simply not be seeing it clearly.

That’s why I use blue and yellow toys in my sessions. It improves clarity, reduces frustration, and helps the dog succeed.

My walks aren’t just exercise — they’re structured, calm and purposeful. I focus on manners, neutrality and confidence building, whether that’s one-to-one or in a balanced group setting.
