New home November

Have you seen that cute boy Crumpet is back on our website looking for his forever home 🏡

Crumpet has struggled a bit and came off our website for a while we worked to help him feel secure and build his confidence 🧡

Crumpet truly is a BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and has the most loving caring nature!!! He even tries to groom his carers if they get rained on and he tries his very best in everything you ask of him! 🥰

He is a very sensitive soul and can find some things more stressful than he lets on, so he needs a relaxed home in a quiet area where he can snooze away his day after a walk and a play 🐕🐾 He absolutely loves other dogs and could happily live with the right female or laid back medium size dog in a home 🧡🐾

Sweetheart that he is Crumpet will need multiple meets to build a relationship he feels confident in and needs a understanding owner that can pickup on his subtle cues when he is anxious or needs reassurance 🧡

Please help us find this beautiful boy his forever home so this is his last Christmas with us 🧡

😻 Introducing our new boys 😻

We just wanted to introduce our Christmas dinner crew to you 🧡

💙 Mash
💙 Gravy
💙 Sprout & Parsnip

These boys came to us just over a week ago through no fault of their own. Sadly their family were losing their home and had to find somewhere safe for the boys to go.

These boys have had their whole world turned upside down and are understandably very confused 💔

Sprout was our best friend straight away but the others are taking a little while to trust us 🧡
We think Sprout has had words with his brother Parsnip and told him that us humans aren’t scary, and he is now enjoying a fuss and a cuddle now he’s settled. These two boys are the best of friends and love each other so much, having each other has definitely helped them! They’re always head-bumping each other and cuddling 💖

Mash is a bit confused and will hiss at us to tell us off but also enjoys a fuss and purrs at the same time 😂❤️

Gravy is a work in progress, we have started to make friends but he is so so scared. We actually had to go out and catch him in the home as the owners couldn’t get him into a carrier. He is petrified and shakes whenever we are near, but he is already making progress and today began accepting treats from his carer ❤️

We will of course persevere and hopefully Mash and Gravy will be our friends soon, just like their younger brothers 🤞

They’ve all started their vet work but do have some health issues that also need treating, so it will be a while before they are looking for homes.

🐕New home November 🐾

This will be Reggie's 5th Christmas since coming to us at the end of 2020 💔.

Reggie was re-homed a few times but sadly was returned each time as he was struggling to settle into the homes and struggled with his behaviours. Reggie originally came to us after his owners abandoned him with a family that looked after him while his owners were in holiday... Sadly his owners never came back for him 💔 So understandably Reggie can find it a bit difficult when first meeting people and needs lots of structured meets to build a relationship (one of his favourite ways to do this is if you sit outside his kennel and read to him!!!!🥰)

Reggie does need a special home with an experienced dog owner but as any of our staff or volunteers who have built a relationship with him know, he is more than worth it!!!!

🧡Reggie is a beautiful boy with a big heart! He is a sensitive and very intelligent boy which is part of why he has struggled and had some behaviour setbacks which meant he was returned to us previously 💔
But for the right person who is willing to give him the chance and take the time to build that relationship and work with our team he truly is a beautiful soul and a once in a lifetime kind of dog!!!

🐕New home November 🐾

Cherry-pie is now looking for a foster home to give her all the love she deserves!!!

Some of you may remember she gave us a scare a while ago after we thought she may have eaten acorns and after being taken straight to our vets her blood tests showed her kidneys were in distress and she had to be hospitalised 😬 Since then we have been carefully monitoring Cherry with our vets and sadly she has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease 😓 Our vets are unsure if she actually ate any acorns and doing the blood test that day helped us uncover her condition 🐾

Luckily Cherry is still very much her normal crazy boisterous self and you wouldn't know anything was wrong at all!!! She loves zooming round and finds it almost impossible to sit still unless she is sat on top of you 🙈🤣 (there's no such thing as personal space with Cherry around 😝)

We are looking for a loving quiet foster home where Cherry can get all the love she so deserves!!! She needs to get to know someone over several meets but once she trusts you she is the biggest goofball and lovebug you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting 🥰

We would like to share our appreciation and thanks to the lovely ladies -Kerry and Nicky who recently visited us from Birchmere House care home/Avery Health care with generous gifts and a food collection for our animals this Christmas. Thank you to all who contributed 🫶

⭐🎄 Our amazing fundraising volunteers and helpers have been busy this weekend! ⭐🎄

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Christmas fayre yesterday and of course to Dot and all our wonderful volunteers for your time and hard work 🧡

You helped raise an incredible £638.05! 🎉⭐🫶

We would also like to say another big thank you to Christine and Stu for raising £104 on Saturday at Kings Heath Cat Rescue’s Christmas fayre 🎄⭐

🧡 We are looking for volunteer receptionists who can spare a few hours to help cover some afternoon shifts (1–4pm)

We currently need help on the following afternoons:

⭐ Tuesday
⭐ Wednesday
⭐ Thursday
⭐ Saturday

Full training will be provided!

Duties include:
🐾 Answering our busy phone lines, responding to emails, and welcoming in-person enquiries and donations
🐾 Liaising with our boarding clients, both online and in person
(Confidence around dogs is required for this aspect of the role)
🐾 Using our online boarding booking system
🐾 Helping to keep our reception area clean and tidy

Requirements:
• Must be 16+ years old
• Must be up to date with tetanus vaccination

If you would like to get involved and buy Christmas gifts for our animals that will be here with us this Christmas all you need to do is fill a shoebox (or a bag) with some goodies and wrap it up for them to open around Christmas🎄🎁🧡

We have included some ideas for gifts for the animals we have here at the Sanctuary and there are also plenty of ideas on our Amazon wishlists too....

"Lots of lovely memories from looking back through my photos. Mango surveying ‘ his land’ in the field, enjoying a fuss, refusing to move out of the sun so I brought the umbrella to put him in the shade, Christmas morning ( 2023), the dancing for the treats and that waggy tail, and climbing on his pile of beds whilst his kennel was being cleaned Love that boy very much❤️"

"Mango:
When cleaning out his kennel, he'd come out and have a walk around before finding a spot to lie down or on his bed, if it's in a sunny spot. He'd then just lie there if he was comfy, refusing to move for anyone (apart from Vic). If he was feeling really energetic, he'd start walking around the paddock and I'd watch over him to make sure he wouldn't walk into anything or warn him before he bumped his head.

If a noise or another dog alerted him, he'd start barking, but because of being blind, he'd be barking the opposite direction of the noise, but was very direct about what upset him."
