I was given the sad news that my customers rabbit Sammy crossed rainbow bridge this week . Sammy was a lovely bunny super friendly and I will miss him and his family very much .
I hope they can have comfort in the fact he was a good age at 9 years old and had the most amazing life with his family .

Rabbits & piggies are prey animals. They hide illness and pain well, so as their carers we have to be aware of this and get them checked by an exotic vet every 6 months or so. Any changes in behaviour, eating habits or pooping could be a sign that something is wrong. Make sure you observe them so you know their behaviours well and notice when something isn’t right.

Don’t put off seeing an exotic vet 🐰

Gentle reminder

When we book you in it’s in my terms and conditions to disclose pre existing conditions before your pet arrives . This is of benefit to your pet . For example if a rabbit had suffered gut stasis this is usually secondary to something else they’ve experienced . I have customers that would rather bring their pet to me than use a pet sitter as I’m here 24/7 to monitor your pet for changes in eating habits and behaviour .
If they have had reactions to hay or other living conditions I can also monitor this rather than thinking they have an infection . It also protects other customers pets too . I have over 300 customers that use my service through the year , that’s a lot to keep track of . But I do . I mark every clients pet on my system with any little things they require . This is a positive I offer to you . So when you arrive everything is in place so you can enjoy your holiday .
We love your pets as our own . And I have to have these policy’s in place to protect you and me going forward .

Remember with the temperature set to rise next week , be mindful of flies as well . Fly strike can hit at any time . Keep all areas clean and check your pets daily at least .
