‼️Important Notice Regarding Severely Matted Dogs‼️
It’s a long one but please read
After much consideration, I have made the decision that I will no longer be accepting severely matted dogs for grooming 🙅🏻♀️
Severe matting is more than a cosmetic issue - it is a serious welfare concern. Tight matting pulls continuously on a dog’s skin, causing pain, bruising, irritation, and even hidden sores or infections underneath. In many cases, humane removal of severe matting requires a full shave-down, which can be stressful for the dog and carries risks such as clipper irritation, nicks, hematomas, and post-groom discomfort.
As a groomer, my priority is always the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of the dogs in my care. Grooming should be a positive and low-stress experience. When a dog’s coat is severely neglected, the grooming process becomes physically uncomfortable and emotionally overwhelming for them.
Regular grooming maintenance at home and on a consistent schedule prevents matting and keeps your dog healthy and happy. I am more than happy to help you create a maintenance plan, recommend brushing tools, and set up recurring appointments to ensure your pet’s coat stays in good condition.
Moving forward, dogs presented with severe matting will be referred to a veterinary clinic for care if necessary, and future appointments may require proof of regular coat maintenance.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and commitment to your pet’s well-being. My goal is to provide the safest and most compassionate grooming experience possible.
