Happy New Year everyone!
This isn’t the post that a lot of you will want to be reading.
I have been a dog trainer for 14 years now. And I love it. I truly love it. Seeing people understand a whole new side to their dog, the light bulb moment when I say something and everything clicks into place, the lightbulb moment for the dogs when THEY understand what it is we are asking. Seeing dogs and owners working in partnership and everyone absolutely loving it!
I feel very privileged and almost duty bound to keep providing classes - especially puppy classes, so people can start off knowing how amazing and fun training can be - that it’s not all about the sits and the stays but about the connection and understanding learned along the way.
Which is why it is so very hard for me to say:
I’m stopping training.
Not forever - just a few months!
The January puppy classes will be the last ones for a while, there will be no mantrailing, gundog, parkour or activity classes until late spring/early summer. 1-2-1 sessions that are booked in will of course go ahead but I won’t be accepting any new clients.
I run Fellowship Dog Training solo, meaning admin, groundskeeping, bookings, scheduling, book keeping, managing the dog field and training, I also work part time with a charity, and above all I am a Mum.
I feel stretched in too many directions at the moment meaning nothing is being done to the standard I would like and that you all deserve, and as a result my family and mental health have slipped to the bottom of the priority list.
Putting myself first is not something I am good at, but I am taking a few months off to pause, reset and recalibrate things.
I will be back in late spring/ early summer with dates for training.
Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support, it truly means more than you know. 💛
Louise
