Here are the training opportunities for Oct/Dec

We have mantrailing - Getting your dog to search out a hidden person based on their sense of smell. As you can see Hector and Bonnie (16 weeks ) are showing you how great it is and how any size or age can do it! Oona is pretending she has FOMO but was actually glad to be out of the rain!

Gundog sessions - Get your dog steady and focused around a variety of distractions and other dogs. Great for any breed not just gundog breeds! Fun and low pressure.

Any questions please get in touch

Autumn/Winter Training Schedule:

We've got a few things in the works for the last few months of the year.

Mantrailing: Like hide and seek with dogs - great fun for dogs of all breeds and ages.

Fundog Gundog - Not just for gundog breeds, teach your dog some steadiness and focus around distractions. Great for any dog thats fetch mad or anyone wanting some good exercises to increase the bond with their dog. - Available as a workshop or classes.

Parkour - Our winter Parkour course or one off workshop is a great way to learn the basics in the comfort of the training hall and give you plenty to practice at home before the good weather arrives in the Spring!

Activity Classes - An old favourite (for me and dogs!) A 5 week course with a different activity each week (Hoopers/Parkour/Wag It! Games/Tricks/Scentwork)

Loose Lead Workshop - Keep your feet on the ground and your shoulder in its socket this winter with some top tips for loose lead walking.

Livestock Experience Workshop - A safe environment to get your dog some exposure with livestock, our friendly sheep and chickens (and ambivalent goats) are the perfect place to start. (Not suitable for dogs with prior livestock chasing history).

Come and enjoy the fun at Fellowship Dog Training

🐾 About Fellowship Dog Training 🐾

Hello dog lovers! I’m Louise Birkett, the face behind Fellowship Dog Training. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training, and for over 14 years I’ve had the joy of working with dogs and their people—from playful puppies to spirited adults. What drives me? Seeing the bond grow between you and your dog, witnessing “light-bulb moments,” and helping you both enjoy every step of the training journey.

What I Stand For:

I believe training is a journey, not a destination. It should be fun, gentle, and built on trust. I use reward-based methods only—no pressure, no force. Just kindness, clear communication, and encouragement.

What I Offer

Puppy training — setting strong foundations from early on, helping with puppy socialisation, basic manners and confidence.

Fun & Games / Activities — once the basics are down, why stop there? We offer gundog training, dog parkour, mantrailing, and more. For dogs who like to move, sniff, work, explore.

Journey Awards — our own award scheme, helping you and your dog progress through levels: everyday life skills, confidence around new things, manners in different settings, etc.

Meet the sheep- The future stars of our Livestock Experience.
Ori, Nori and Fluffy.

Ori and Nori are Shetland sheep and Fluffy is Shetland x Icelandic. They are friendly boys who love cuddles. They are used to my dogs pottering around and have never been rounded up by sheepdogs while with me (and in Ori and Nori’s case ever!) this makes them much less wary of dogs and the fact that they will be allowed into a new paddock with fresh grass makes the whole thing more appealing.

Just like with the dogs we won’t be doing anything that the sheep/goats and chickens don’t want to do! - they’ll always have a place to move away from the dogs if they need some space.

The Scottish Borders is a wonderful place to live, and a wonderful place to have a dog. One of the things that makes it so special is the rolling countryside. The rolling countryside that can be home to sheep, cows, horses and other livestock. If you would love to be able to walk past the fields without asking your dog to leave the animals, or worrying about what's around the corner - come and join us at our "Down on the Farm" experience. My sheep, goats and chickens are all used to dogs and the idea is to get your dogs used to them too. Not to meet them or be friends with them - but to learn they are not worth noticing.

This session isn't suitable for dogs with a history of animal worrying and will be fully on lead and is not designed to prove your dog is safe off lead around livestock.
