Kate and Richard Bandey run a specialist breeding and foaling centre offering a unique service to their clients by having a resident vet on site who attends every foaling. We also take thoroughbred horses for pretraining and offer a rehabilitation service for horses recovering from injury.

Plantation Farm are looking for a member of yard staff to cover a maternity leave, and join our small, friendly team. To start mid January.

The job involves:
- Handling youngstock and fit racehorses.
- ⁠Putting horses on and off the walker.
- ⁠Turning out and getting in from the field.
- ⁠Grooming and changing rugs.
- ⁠Mucking out.
- ⁠All general yard duties.

Suitable candidate…
- ⁠Must be able to work as a team and use their initiative to work independently at times as well.
- ⁠Physically fit.
- ⁠Confident but quiet with the horses.
- ⁠Have a good sense of humour.
- ⁠Be willing to work hard.

Hours are 7am - 1pm and 4pm - 6pm but can be flexible for the right person. Pay dependent on experience.

Richard Bandey is a racehorse trainer with predominantly National Hunt horses. Set on top of a hill with beautiful views over the downs, his yard is perfectly located to ensure healthy happy horses. His wife, Kate, is an equine vet who is always on hand to ensure the horses well-being. Alongside the training business, they run a specialist breeding and foaling centre offering a unique service to their clients by having a resident stud vet on site.
