In August 2009 my wife Alison opened an office for our pet care agency, Care 4 Pets, and a small dog grooming salon at 120 Park Crescent. It seemed appropriate to also supply a few pet products too for our clients.
In 2014 the grooming salon expanded next door to 119 Park Crescent, the pet care agency took more of a back seat and those select few pet products blossomed into a fully grown pet shop, My Favourite Pet Shop.
Over the course of the next 11 years Alison, Sophie, Janette, Debbie, Phee, Hana and myself, Jon, as well as many others have had the pleasure to serve the numerous customers, regular or occasional, who have visited our pet shop. An even greater pleasure (sorry folks) has been to meet and serve the accompanying pets that so many customers have brought with them.
At the end of business tomorrow, Saturday 15 Nov, we will say goodbye to 120 Park Crescent. There will still continue to be a pet shop there but it will no longer be ours. Alison and I have chosen to sell the business to allow us to enjoy our retirement, semi-retirement, extended gap year or whatever the heck it all turns out to be and experience the prime of our golden years together.
We are both so grateful to each and every one of you who has taken the time to visit us over the years. I am sorry if we weren't able to provide what you wanted on every occasion but having sold well over 7000 different product lines over those years I promise, we did try. To those who we have been able to help just a huge thank you so much for trusting us in helping to look after your beloved pets.
The shop will continue to trade at 120 Park Crescent under the new ownership of Lisa from ZOOM-eze and we hope you all will continue to support her as you have us. Running any independent business in the current environment is extremely difficult and we know she will appreciate your support. I have one final request for those who read this. If My Favourite Pet Shop 01446 744633 has been your favourite pet shop would you please post a photo of your favourite pet in reply to this post? We'd love to have a permanent reminder of those we have helped over the years, even if they are no longer with us.
