What a week it’s been!

Fun fact… I’ve spent the last two days feeling pretty unwell and been carrying a sick bag around with me just in case! 🤣 Thankfully, my husband Lee stepped in to help with walks. All the dogs are always so happy to see him when he joins us, infact I’m sure some prefer him to me 🙉.

I just want to say a huge thank you to all of my wonderful clients. Your continued support, recommendations, and tags in local community groups means more than you know. It helps my little business keep going, especially during the more challenging times. Thankyou Linsey 🫶

We survived another week in a heatwave 🌞🐾

🥵 Hot Weather Policy 🥵

Due to the forecasted heatwave, my hot weather policy will be implemented from tomorrow and for the remainder of this week.

What this means for you:

Where possible, group walks will be held much earlier in the day before temperatures rise. From lunchtime onwards, home visits will be carried out for clients who would prefer not to have early walks but still require a midday toilet break. Dogs left home alone will be prioritised first.

Each dog will be assessed individually based on their size, age, breed, and any health conditions. Walks carried out in shaded areas or near water may still need to be shortened if conditions become unsafe during the walk. The van is fitted with air conditioning, crate fans, roof fan, water bowls and cooling mats. For extra safety dogs will be sprayed with water for the journey home if required.

Forecasted temperatures will be reviewed daily, and clients will be contacted individually the day before if your usual routine needs to change.

In the meantime, it would be really helpful if you could let me know your preference for:

* An earlier group walk
* A lunchtime home visit
* Cancellation if you plan to be at home

My main priority is keeping all dogs safe and comfortable during the heat.

These photos mean the world to me because 12 week ago when Betty first joined me I wasn’t able to wash, dry or touch her legs without her telling me to back off 😂🫶❤️

This week has been anything but our usual routine – 5am alarms, sunrises and sunsets, early morning forest walks, more time on the lead to help keep the dogs cool, and plenty of garden visits with enrichment activities for mental stimulation. ☀️🌅🌳🐶

I also treated the dogs to some pup cups and frozen bone broth treats to help them stay cool. 🦴🍦

To round the week off in style (on my backside 🤦‍♀️😂), after getting absolutely drenched in the thunderstorm and changing my work uniform, I then managed to slip in the mud! I can’t even say it was the dogs as they were walking nicely back to the van. Thankfully, I’ve only come away with a few grazes.
