· Children can run alone.

· Children under the age of 11 must be accompani

ed to/from the event by a parent/guardian, and the parent/guardian must remain in attendance for the duration of the event.

· Parents/guardians can take part but they must accompany a junior runner. A maximum of two adults per child will be allowed.

· Adult runners are not permitted to run across the finish line.

· Buggies are allowed, but only if the adult pushing the buggy is accompanying a junior runner. Worth discussing course conditions with organisers before setting off.

· Registration will include contact name and details of parent/guardian. Parents do not need to register.

· The use of scooters, balance bikes, trikes or cycles is prohibited.

· Dogs or other pets are not allowed to take part.

· It’s is supposed to be fun, so parents, please do not put children under undue pressure to perform, and abuse of any kind will not be tolerated.

· Children can volunteer for duties at finish.

- we actively encourage those who are working toward the Duke of Edinburgh Award to complete the "service" part with us as we have many weekly roles that require just an older role model for the young people taking part. Photos - Photos are uploaded onto our page - please note that we would be grateful if you would all refrain from tagging anyone in the photos we tag in this album - this is in line with our juniors athlete privacy policy

Medication - if your child suffers requires an Asthma pump / Epipen, please ensure they are in-date and that they know how to use them

This weekend parkrun will host its 1 millionth ever event.

Since the first event in 2004, people have gone through a finish funnel 138 million times and volunteered on more than 16 million occasions.

parkrun is a charity that believes in the power of community, empowering people through shared movement, every weekend.

Every year more and more people sign up to parkrun who were previously inactive, more people come from the lowest socio economic groups. People can take part in prisons, people are prescribed parkrun by their GPs, and more than 2000 primary schools are twinned with a local junior parkrun.

parkrun is truly changing the world and we invite you to help support the weekly events that you love so that they can continue to deliver the next million events and beyond. And reach more and more of these people with the most to gain from the parkrun magic.

Thanks a million to all of the volunteers, runners, walkers that have joined us. And, thanks to all the donors, land owners and commercial partners, and everyone that makes parkrun happen 🧡.

A very special junior parkrun morning today. It was our 3rd anniversary in Barking Park and we celebrated two very special volunteering milestones. 🎂🤗

Our Co-Event Director who founded our junior parkrun event 12 years ago, Kresh Veerasamy, and today’s Run Director, Timi Veerasamy, celebrated their 500th volunteer milestone. 💙 What a way to celebrate Volunteers’ Week! 🥳

Two of our juniors also achieved their half marathon milestone - the blue wristband for 11 junior parkruns completed. Well done Diegu and Jidenna.

Thanks to our brilliant volunteers for a great morning. We enjoyed some treats and a lovely post juniors faff in the cafe.

Well done to our 34 finishers. We welcomed 5 first timers, additional volunteers training for a new event and saw 7 personal bests set today.

Don’t forget throughout the Summer, juniors who complete Barking junior parkrun get free access on that Sunday to the 10am session at the Splash Park. 🤗

See you next Sunday for a 9am start.
