This one is a little bit different from my normal promos, but it’s somewhere I really wanted people to know about.

I went along to Aberdeenshire Pet Cremation in King Edward up beside Macduff/Banff and met Hayley, and she is honestly just the loveliest 🩵

It’s a really small personal service everything is done on site, so you know exactly who is looking after your pet from the moment they arrive until they come home again. 🐾

The bit that really got me was the farewell room. It’s absolutely beautiful and families can spend as much time as they need in there with their pet and actually get the chance to say goodbye.

I lost my wee Chihuahua Chico when he was only a year and a half old and I never got that. He was taken away after he died and the next time I saw him, I got his ashes back in a little pouch so seeing what Hayley has created really hit me 😢

Every pet is cremated individually and families also receive a ceramic paw print and a little engraved box with some of their fur. There are lots of urns, jewellery and other keepsakes to choose from too.

Nobody wants to think about losing their pet, but I really wish I’d known somewhere like this existed when we lost our wee Chico 🩵

I’ll share the full video soon and show you around properly 🐾

We recently had the privilege of caring for a beautiful dog whose family chose this stunning rainbow urn, alongside one of our resin memorial paw prints containing a small portion of his ashes.

What makes these paw prints especially meaningful is that they can be displayed on their personalised stand at home, or simply lifted off and carried in a pocket or bag whenever you want your best friend close by.

We love this combination, and think the rainbow urn and paw print complement each other beautifully.

I’m now back from the most incredible riding holiday in Iceland, and I’ll never forget it.

What an extraordinary breed Icelandic horses are. Their stamina, eagerness to work, kind and willing temperaments, incredibly smooth gaits, hardiness, sure-footedness and common sense make them an absolute joy to ride. After spending four unforgettable days in the saddle, I am utterly in love with them.

Over those four days we explored some of the most breathtaking landscapes I have ever seen. We rode high into the mountains, crossed vast wetlands and rivers, swam in warm geothermal streams, galloped and “tolted” along black volcanic sand beaches, and covered miles of spectacular countryside. Experiencing the famous tölt for the first time was the real highlight and the main reason I chose to do this holiday. Although we all quickly discovered that some of the horses are a lot smoother than others 😂

The weather certainly was a challenge! We experienced plenty of Icelandic wind and rain, but that only added to the adventure. At the end of each long day there was nothing better than warming up by sinking into a hot tub, chatting about the day’s adventures and then enjoying a delicious meal together.

One of the best parts of the trip was the people. I met such a wonderful group, and I’m so grateful for the laughs, conversations and memories we made together.

Iceland itself is unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. The dramatic volcanic landscapes, waterfalls and endless open spaces are simply breathtaking, and seeing them from horseback made the experience even more special.

A huge thank you to everyone at Eldhestar for such a brilliantly organised holiday, and to the amazing Icelandic horses who carried us so willingly across their beautiful country. It was an adventure I’ll treasure forever, and I already know I’ll be back one day 🤞

Finally, I’d just like to say a huge thank you to all of you for your patience and understanding while Aberdeen Pet Crematorium was closed for our annual holiday. Having the opportunity to properly switch off and experience an adventure like this means I can come back refreshed and ready to give every family and every beloved pet the care and attention they deserve. Thank you for allowing me that time away, it really is appreciated.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY NOTICE

Aberdeenshire Pet Crematorium will be closed from today until 12th July while Debbie and I take a well-earned break.

I’ll be heading off to Iceland for a riding holiday 🇮🇸🐴, while Debbie is travelling south to spend time with friends and family and attend a school reunion.

This is our chance to recharge after another incredibly busy year, and we’d like to thank every family who has trusted us to care for their beloved pets. Your kindness and support mean more to us than you’ll ever know.

We’ll reopen on 13th July, refreshed and ready to continue caring for your much-loved companions with the same compassion and dedication.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you all have a wonderful week.

A loving tribute to … GHOST …

“A very special 'wee man' with a huge character.

Very affectionate, pushed his face into yours. Loved to be cuddled into someone/Shadow his brother or Cronin or Rogan.

If his bowl had a hole in the middle where he'd eaten from, he meowed until it was topped up!!

He had a very distinctive gait - he rocked as he came running 🐾💙🐾”

I recently had the amazing Trish Gale out to do a photoshoot with my beautiful Phoebe. She’s eight now, and the grey hairs appearing on her face are a painful reminder that time stubbornly refuses to stand still.
I just love her with my whole heart each and every day, knowing that every second with her is precious. My best friend, my soul dog. I love you Pheebs 💕🫶🐾
