Dog grooming at Voy Vet Clinic
We have made the difficult decision to close for the duration of this current lockdown.
With infection rates at their highest, hospitals struggling, vulnerable staff, I feel its important for everyone to do their part and stay safe at home.
Although we all like our dogs to be clean and pretty, our health must come first and we need to protect those around us. That is essential.
This hasn't been an easy decision to make, I hope you understand our reasons why. Everyone please stay safe and well. Call 07561143293 or 02890862583
**This SUNDAY will be our last catch up vaccine Clinic"
Our official stickers to update passports have arrived. Before anyone thinks they can just print out their own unfortunately there are internal amendments and stamps and followup that have to be applied to make them valid.
Depending on demand we intend to have a system where passports are left in and collected later outwith surgery hours. We can now issue new passports also stickered up and valid please contact surgery if this is needed soon
PET TRAVEL UPDATE

Veterinary from behind a mask might appeal to me if I could manage it on horseback, but we appreciate it is probably a bit threatening to your pet. We do witter away to them once inside in fact we are more free to do so when you are not there than we normally would (I tend to ask them the same questions I would ask you which at least helps me think) hopefully this reassures them a bit. . We are sorry it is not service as normal but are afraid that it's going to be like this for some time. Thank you for your ongoing help. Texting in your medicine orders is a help as it unclogs the phone lines thanks for your compliance and patience on this Sunday am vaccination clinics also helps reduce congestion. For neuters and spay booking texting and call back also is a help so thank you all for your ongoing understanding.
**UPDATE**
1 We understand that due to numbers some are finding it difficult to get through on the phone lines for repeat medication and or flea and worm treatments, if it is easier for some we would be happy for you to text your details and what you require through to 07733321443 and we will get back to you as soon as we can.(patience please) PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS FOR EMERGENCY MATTERS
2 We are also fielding a large number of calls from those who have animals overdue Boosters by some time now, having already been a little overdue before this crisis occurred and are aware that it will be many months before it is over. To try and alieviate this we are going to trial some booster sessions where we can set up to have the materials ready to vaccinate, do this efficiently and cleanse and disinfect afterward
Our first trial session will be on SUNDAY AM 9 TO 10, you must observe strict social distancing at all times and only use this time for boosters alone if you have another concern or illness please please arrange to come at another time.. If everyone complies then further sessions will be organised
If there is one silver lining to this terrible cloud its that wearing a mask or scarf seems to be the one fashion item that has ever suited me. What I have also noted is that whilst my brain clunk's and bangs through whatever flow chart it has selected as best for each case, the part controlling our eyebrows has the run of the place and they have their own conversation 3 yards apart.
We are finding the change in interaction difficult even if the cases are still different, interesting, worrying, surprising or in no 5s case not an emergency. So far you have all been very good at mostly avoiding this one, thanks and sorry the service is not what we all want at present.
I know that I might well be a hillbilly but when coming to the clinic with your emergency or to collect your medication please please only travel with Granny and the family if you have an open air vehicle like this, otherwise it may well be safer for Granny to be strapped to the roof rather than inside your GTI model mobile infection chamber. Seriously folks we had a couple of cars packed with family and elderly turn up again yesterday. Whilst you are allowed to travel to the vets for emergency cases or medication it may not be justified by the authorities if you are stopped and you have cousin Marbeth, Auntie Brigid and uncle Tom Cobley and his travelling band all in the car.
Pampered Pooches grooming at voy
This is not easy to write, as we love all our four legged friends who come regularly for their trim. However we must follow the advice that been given down by the government. Leaving your home to bring your dog to a grooming parlour is not classed as basic necessity at the point in time.
Rest assured, we are compiling a list of pets who require grooming. They will receive appointments as soon as we are able to resume our services. This list is headed by the customers who's pets we were unable to groom last week.
We give you our word, as soon as it's safe to do so, we will contact you and arrange to have your woolly mammoths trimmed ASAPπ
In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and look after our furry friendsβ€
We hope to see you all again in the not too distant future...
Much love,
The Pampered Pooches teamβ₯οΈ
In order to be able to continue to provide an essential service we have to comply with ongoing daily guidance and make changes to keep staff safe. This means a new way of working.
Clinic will be from 9 to 10 am for ESSENTIAL cases only, if you feel your problem can be dealt with by a telephone consult we would urge you to use this option to reduce footfall and keep the clinic operational.
TELEPHONE consultations and calls for repeat medications and food should be from 10.30 to 1pm . We aim to deal with as much as we can in this manner with treatments and remote medications being made up for collection with minimal contact. PLEASE if possible have a card handy to pay as payment could be the bottleneck.
Surgery/operations will only be for those cases which are absolutely necessary.
VACCINATIONS the advice from our professional body is that adult animals can have vaccines go overdue by a few months with minimal increase in risk . We will therefore not vaccinate adult animals now but will aim to have some sort of future scheme to get things back to normal. PUPPYS and KITTENS going without vacs could cause a welfare issue so we will vacc ate these but with minimal interaction
We have had enquiries about insulin supplies and currently we have plenty in stock
*****Update******
As of tomorrow the Practise will be open restricted hours.
Clinic 9 to 10 am Monday to Friday for Essential Emergencies only
10.30 to 1pm for telephone advice and medicine orders.
Saturday 9 to 10 am
THERE WILL BE NO EVENING CLINIC
if you have a Genuine Emergency only outwith these hours we will still be there for this PHONE FIRST.
*******UPDATE. ******
Following yesterday's online broadcast to the whole veterinary profession we will only be able to see ESSENTIAL CASES, LIFE AND DEATH OR SIGNIFICANT WELFARE MATTERS, this is for the safety of yourselves ourselves ad the community. For non immediately urgent matters please phone the surgery where we will aim to issue advice and treatment where appropriate.
If it is an ongoing or recurrent condition phone and we will hopefully be able to dispense meds remotely to get over this period
To help organise this we would ask for phone consultations to occur from 10 to 11 am.
Further advise on organisation of this to follow.
