The comedian known for his brutally honest humor just turned ticket sales into something greater than a standing ovation.
Ricky Gervais has donated $2.5 million from his latest world tour to animal charities around the world, quietly directing the proceeds from platinum ticket sales on his Mortality tour toward causes that need it most.
The tour ran across 2024 and 2025, and instead of letting that extra revenue sit as profit, he chose to pass it on. The funds were distributed across 22 different organisations, supporting animals ranging from rescue dogs and abandoned cats to bears, rhinos, and working donkeys.
Groups like Nowzad, All Dogs Matter, NYC Second Chance Rescue, and International Animal Rescue were among those that received support, each working in very different environments but with the same goal: protecting animals that can’t protect themselves.
And this isn’t new for him. With a previous donation of £1.9 million from his Armageddon tour, Gervais has now given more than £5 million to animal welfare through his recent work alone.
What stands out isn’t just the amount. It’s the way he does it, without making it about himself. The donations happen, the impact spreads, and the focus stays exactly where it should be.
For the animals and the people caring for them, that support isn’t just generous. It changes everything.
