A sensitive post today 🧡 I've had a few queries whether I groom older cats because I don't really post photos or stories about them.

I groom a lot of senior kittycats but often it can be difficult and sensitive for the cats, owners and myself, so I often don't feel it's appropriate to share online.

I don't have a maximum age for cats, as long as they're healthy, calm and comfortable, and their humans understand the risks then I'm happy to try and help where I can.

A lovely older cat I recently saw is the very sweet Dora. She's a beautiful Persian who has reached the amazing age of 19! She's now blind and arthritic but still loves attention. She needed mats removed, ingrown claws trimming and a clean up of her bottom. She was purring and snoring away whilst I groomed her 😻 I then gently carried her to her comfy cat bed where she continued to snooze away 😸 her mum let me know she was up and about enjoying her food later on 🐾

A big welcome to the cat grooming club for Issy & Sally 😸

2 beautiful Maine C**n ladies with very cheeky personalities.

Issy (silver tabby) was very chatty and squeaky, letting me know when she needed a break.

Sally (torbie) was very easily persuaded by a licky treat and then went off to hunt some flies around the kitchen 😹

Both in lovely condition but just needed a few little knots removed from underneath their legs and chest, they like to explore the garden and they collect some debris! 🌿🍁🍂

Pop licky treats in the freezer and they become kittycat ice pops 😹❄️

The heat is still limiting the number of grooming appointments I can offer, as I want to keep all my kitty clients safe and comfortable. I’m working every day to try and fit everyone in.

My temperature guidelines are:

🌡️ 30°+ early mornings (8am–10am) priority appointments only
🌡️ 28°–30° mornings only (8am–12pm)
🌡️ 25°–28° mornings and some afternoons depending on humidity levels and how hot it feels
🌡️ Under 25° usual hours (8am–6pm), but please keep curtains closed and fans on if it’s sunny

If you have air conditioning, please let me know I may be able to be more flexible 😸

Thank you for your understanding while we keep our furry clients cool and comfortable 🐾

I'm very busy with maintenance grooms and new enquiries, all whilst juggling the borrowing of cars and navigating heatwaves 🤯 so please bear with me, I'm trying my best to fit everyone in when I can 🙏
