What a scorcher it has been this week 🥵 🌡️but everydoggy has had the best time and returned cool, happy and content, thanks to early starts, careful planning and all clients being absolutely wonderful about every change that's had to be made. With welfare and hot weather, being understanding goes without saying, but to have everyone saying just do what you need to do, it sure does make planning these hot days much smoother - so thank you to everyone for considering not just your own pooch, but everyone else's too 🩷🩷🩷

You'll all be pleased to know that tomorrow is looking much cooler again, so we will be resuming as normal 🤗🥳

❗Please read re the heatwave from Friday 22nd May❗

Due to the high temperatures from tomorrow - and also the huge jump up in degrees in less than a 24hour period 😱, we anticipate that dogs are going to struggle to regulate even more than they usual do when the warmer weather creeps in.

We will be bringing all walks forward from tomorrow by approximately 1 hour to accommodate everydoggy safely. We will review this daily leading into next week.
This could also include walks being shortened if we feel the need to and if necessary, canceling walks if we do not feel it is safe. As always plenty of fresh drinking water will be readily available and all walks will be in fully shaded routes only.

As always, if you have any queries or concerns or would prefer for your dog to not come out, then please do not hesitate to let us know. Extra provisions at home are hugely beneficial like keeping windows, blinds/curtains closed throughout the day before the sun is fully up. Cool mats, fans along with ample fresh water will help keep your dog cool and comfortable. If we can assist with any of this or give any advice then we are of course more than happy to.

Enjoy the sun but stay cool and safe and keep those pups in the shade 🌞😎

The Retreat update 😍

I’ll be honest… we’re absolutely exhausted 😅 But I didn’t want to start another week without giving you all an update 🐾

Since our last update, we’ve had the doorways built, doors installed, platforms finished and kitchen fitted. Jess and I have also completed our Ofqual Level 2 Canine First Aid Course, ensuring we remain, qualified, current and in line with industry standards. 🩺🐶

We’ve also had the treats arrive for our all-natural snack shed, which will officially launch in the next couple of weeks — so keep your eyes peeled for updates! 👀🐾

My partner Toby, his colleague Nat and myself set to work on the courtyard Friday, which has now started its transformation too. This area connects the spacious indoor section of The Retreat to a fully fenced grass field just shy of 1 acre — all completely secure from inside to out. 🌿🐕🏠

Then came the flooring… 😅

Yesterday - 11 straight hours, four very sore hands and 500 Stanley blades later (so it felt)😂 128m2 of flooring was moved, cut and fitted!

So much thought went into choosing the right option as we simply didn’t want to compromise. We chose an extremely durable, thick rubber flooring that’s suitable for dogs of all breeds, ages, and mobility thanks to its anti-slip properties — even when wet. 🥰 Anti-fatigue and insulating benefits also make it a fantastic surface for dogs to play, rest, and explore comfortably.

Now for the question everyone keeps asking… “When will you open?” 👀

We’re still not setting an exact opening date just yet because we’re determined not to compromise on having absolutely everything exactly as it should be. But we can honestly say now… we are very close. 🩷
