🌿 Another brilliant day proving that some of the best learning happens outside your comfort zone.
New environments, real problem-solving, and partnerships that grew stronger throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who came along to today’s ’woodland searches’ —you should all be proud of what you achieved today. šŸ’™šŸ¾

I’m excited to be able to share that I will be joining Nosey Dogs as a Guest Scent Detection Instructor to deliver workshops on search strategies and route planning.

This is a subject I am incredibly passionate about and I am looking forward to helping handlers better understand how thoughtful route planning and search strategy can transform both handling and dog performance.

Together we’ll be exploring how operational search methods can be broken down into clear, teachable foundations before being adapted for pet scentwork and competition teams, helping handlers build more confident, focused and efficient search partnerships.

A huge thank you to Nosey Dogs for the invitation! 🐾

Sometimes things don’t quite go to plan… but we adapt and overcome. šŸ’ŖšŸ¾

What was meant to be a workshop was postponed because of the heat. I then arranged an earlier 1-2-1 session at the venue… then a flat tyre had other ideas and stopped me from even making it to the venue! šŸš—šŸ›ž

Rather than calling it a day, we made the best of the situation with a coffee, a good catch-up, and a really productive training session.

Today’s focus was working on multiple odour recognition within the same search area, while also introducing the challenge of a completely new environment. It’s always great to see a team build in confidence, improving decision-making, and learning to work through new challenges together.

Proof that even when the plan changes, there’s always an opportunity to learn. 🐶
