A little celebration for a very special boy today… 🏵️

We don’t often give out rosettes for our 1-2-1 clients (maybe we should!!), but Paddy is a very special exception.

His journey with reactivity around people and dogs hasn’t always been easy, but session by session, he’s grown in confidence and shown us just how capable he is when he has the right support.

This rosette isn’t just for Paddy, though. It’s also for his wonderful owners, who have shown so much patience, kindness and commitment throughout. They’ve put the work in every single week, trusted the process, and have been there for Paddy every step of the way.

Watching their bond grow has been such a joy, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve achieved together so far.

Well done, Team Paddy! ❤️🐾

Warning: Extreme puppy cuteness alert!! 🐶💛

This gorgeous little guy has been busy building the skills that matter most - confidence, focus, and a love of learning.

Puppy class isn't just about teaching cues like sit and down. It's about helping puppies learn how to navigate the world, make good choices, and build a strong, positive relationship with their humans.

Watching these little personalities grow week after week is one of the best parts of the job. We can't wait to see what this clever pup achieves next! ✨

When you're so excited to train that your front paws can't stay on the floor... 🥹🐾

This gorgeous pup was giving the most enthusiastic nose touches in class, and we absolutely love it! 💛

That eagerness to engage, offer behaviours and interact with their owner is exactly what we aim to build in puppy classes. Confidence, curiosity and a love of learning create the best foundations for future training.

Is your dog *really* stubborn?

Many dogs labelled "stubborn" are actually:
🐾 Distracted
🐾 Overwhelmed
🐾 Confused
🐾 Under-motivated
🐾 Tired

Sometimes what looks like stubbornness is simply a dog doing their best with the information, skills, and energy they have in that moment.

At Follow My Lead, we focus on teaching dogs what TO do, rather than what NOT to do.

Punishment may suppress behaviour, but it doesn't teach new skills.
It can also increase fear, anxiety and frustration.

Our goals? To create confident, happy dogs who understand how to succeed, to create lasting, trust-based relationships between dogs and owners, and to help you and your dog live your best lives together 🥰

Both are normal! Learning isn't a straight line.

The most underrated training tool?

💤 Sleep!

Many behaviour challenges become harder when dogs are tired, overstimulated or constantly "on."

Dogs need far more sleep than most people realise.

Adult dogs typically need 12-16 hours.
Adolescent dogs typically need 16-20 hours.
Puppies often need 18-20 hours EVERY DAY!

A tired dog isn't always a calm dog.

Sometimes they're the zoomiest, barkiest and most reactive version of themselves.

Rest is productive.

Now... time for a nap! 😴
