Love seeing such amazing progress with one of our long term clients who brings both her Collies to us, Wilf started at 14 weeks old!

My dog's are my absolute world. A lot of you know Wilf (Willful Wilfred as he's known) he's got managed hip dysplasia. He has regular Vet visits and cartrophen injections with Conway Road Veterinary Surgery , Hydrotherapy with Paws 2 Water Hydrotherapy Specialists and Physio with Physiotherapy with Emma . Collies and working breeds need lots of mental stimulation, we had to stop agility to protect his joints, we do regular scentwork but he needed more! Our Physio Emma suggested trying Rally with Kaye’s Canines Dog Training.

Rally is putting heelwork elements into a competitive obedience course, there are different levels, with competitions at organised events or online. The embarrassment of being hu**ed pretty much all of the first class 🫣 as Wilf was getting stressed with me, adjusting to a slower pace and the other dogs to now developing a stronger bond and daily challenges which are fantastic, in-between grooming to keep him occupied. Thanks to Kaye and the group for being so supportive. Life is for living, take risks, laugh a lot and embrace challenges. The trainer Kaye noticed I had his attention in the photo and I laughed and said "First time ever! 😂" We're on the Activity Register with the Kennel Club to compete at some point in the future, his official name is now 'Wild Gambol' so watch this space 🐾

Who we are...

Paws 2 Water Hydrotherapy Specialists is run by Ceri Johnson who is fully qualified and experienced in hydrotherapy. The centre will provide tailor-made rehabilitation and fitness programmes and is the first INDEPENDENT unit in North Wales to specialise in hydrotherapy using a heated underwater treadmill.

Hydrotherapy means "water therapy" and has been proven to significantly aid in the rehabilitation of many conditions and/or surgical procedures. Paws 2 Water hydrotherapy specialists provide treatment to dogs and small animals recovering from injury, operation or suffering from ongoing conditions, ranging from orthopaedic, soft tissue or neurological. This is achieved using specialised and individual hydrotherapy treatments and techniques with an underwater treadmill. We also create weight management programmes, providing a low-weight bearing environment to support over loaded limbs and improve cardiovascular fitness leading to increased weight loss. Other benefits include fitness treatments personalised and developed for agility, performance or working dogs.

All patients to Paws 2 Water Hydrotherapy Specialists will need to be referred from your local Veterinary Surgeon, as required by the standards set by NARCH (National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists).

Ceri's aim is to give you confidence in complementary therapies that work alongside medicine and surgery to give your dog’s the best possible care and relief from pain. Your furry family member will also benefit from an increase in mental and physical wellbeing. Ceri is very passionate about providing the highest level of treatment and care to your beloved pet and strives to produce the best results to improve their quality of life.
