Faith❤️
Yesterday our permanent resident Faith had a few hours at the vets which isn’t her favourite place.
Faith had her teeth cleaned, a manicure (easiest whilst she’s sleeping), another x-ray and part of her big blood test from last month repeated.
Faith has been with us four years now since she was found in a very poor state lying on the track near SOS. Most of the time she’s a happy, fairly lively, funny little Pod and her favourite thing is to spend hours under the ‘rat’ tree living in hope of catching one.
Eighteen months ago Faith was showing signs of pain and the vets finally found the problem. A small piece of wire (that must have been somehow eaten) had gone through her intestines and settled near her colon. Successful surgery should have fixed the problem but she’s never been totally ‘right’ since. Most days she’s perfect but some days are ‘off’ days.
Faith is hopefully finished with the vets for now as she doesn’t enjoy her trips there and of course every visit hits the finances.
Faith is a great example of why lots of animal shelters never seem to have much money. Once a dog gets through our gates we do the best we can but Faith has a big file at the vets including emergency Pyometra surgery, surgery to both knees, scans, x-rays…the list goes on.
Fingers crossed yesterday was the end of it for now.
