SAVE THE DATE!
We have marked up a special day on the ARCH Calendar. Sunday October 12th is the date for our Autumn Fest which, as all ARCH supporters know, is always a great day. This year we will be having another spectacular display from the local Police Dog Handlers followed by our own Fun Dog Show (back by popular request). As usual there will be an artisan market, live music and, of course, our delicious barbecue. Full details will be coming soon but don't forget to put it on YOUR calendar now!

PAMPERING PINOCHIO
Elisabeth had help this morning from two young volunteers to bath two of our new ponies. Little Pinochio had probably never had a bath before judging by the amount of dirt that came out of his coat. He is a sweet and gentle little man but obviously not bothered about his appearance!😂

BABY STEPS
Our little filly Marea is looking much better after being wormed and having access to plenty of food. She has had no handling and is understandably wary of human contact, particularly as Mum is very protective. But she is quick and curious and with patience she will learn to trust.

Thank you Steve Young for taking time out from your holiday to work with EmCee and raise awareness of ARCH.

STILL BLOOMING
We love to hear about our happily homed rescues but sometimes forget how far back they go! We were recently very kindly gifted a treeless saddle by one of our supporters, Wendy Foss. Wendy’s neighbour, Helen Carver (who also donated some head collars) still has an ARCH pony called Blossom. She sent us this message “Blossom says she regularly donates to ARCH because she is very grateful they saved her 14 years ago.” She is now 19 years old and still remembered by older volunteers. So many years for ARCH, so many rescues and still so needed.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?
Our ten new rescues now all have names and those that arrived without microchips now have them and are registered. We have been very busy with vet visits and farrier visits over the past week and are making good progress. The mares will have ultra sounds soon to see whether any of them are pregnant (it would not be unusual as we have no clear idea of their histories) We already have several interested would-be adopters. To register your interest please fill in an adoption form from our website www.horserescuespain.org and Aly, our Head of Rehabilitation and Rehoming will get in touch with you.

BOY ZONE OR GENTLEMANS' CLUB? 😁
We had to do some hasty shifting around with the arrival of our ten newbies and decided to try changing our three old boys from their separate paddocks into a large communal one. The two ex-stallions (castrated on arrival at ARCH) Torero and Pirata now share space with Senador, who has long wanted special friends. This has worked wonderfully and apart from a few scuffles when the feed buckets come out they are living in harmony. Torero thinks he is the boss, Pirata sometimes begs to differ and Senador just loves to be one of the crowd!

A BUSY MORNING
The ten newbies were wormed this morning, another step on the way to giving them much needed care. And they were joined by another little donkey, found by the Police wandering and apparently abandoned. His chip says his name is Elvis but we have yet to track down an owner!

CONFIDENCE FOR CRISTAL
This little mare finds the outside world quite scarey so Aly is working with her to get her used to strange new things. Enclosed spaces are a particular challenge but with quiet patience and persistance she learns to trust and finds the courage to take that final step.

WEEKLY PIN UP PHOTO!
We couldn't resist posting this photo of the lovely Leo in his foster home. He has grown and matured so much and has really turned into a beautiful boy. Remember that skinny little foal who lost his mum, just look at him now!

GETTING TO KNOW THEM
Our ten newbies have now been with us just over a week and we are beginning to realise who and how they are and what they need. Our vet, Rocio, has written up a detailed report for our animal rights lawyer, detailing their condition and noting their ages and details (where these can be found since the majority have no papers or microchips). She has also advised us on future treatment and feeding. This coming week they will be wormed and vaccinated. They are all enjoying the regular meals and routine at the Centre as well as sympathetic handling. So many followers have expressed their concern and interest. Once again, thank you for your support and donations, they are much needed.

HELP US TO HELP THEM
We are extremely grateful for the donations we have received so far for these unfortunate animals. Our vet, Rocio, has checked them over and done a report for the authorities. We have now begun to give them the care they need. Below is a quick link we have set up for donations (since Facebook no longer supports these).
