Did you know? 🧠

In a typical ICSI session, we may start with around 20 follicles in the mare’s ovaries - this is where the journey begins.

From these, we are usually able to collect around 12 oocytes.

From there, the process continues through several steps that may eventually lead to one healthy foal.

This progression is often referred to as the “ICSI Pyramid.”

Biology is complex, and results can vary - but this model helps illustrate the journey from follicle to foal.
