What a week! Home and unpacked after spending the week supporting sponsored team TimeFlyZ FLYBALL TEAM competing at the Flyball Open World Cup. After checking all the dogs on arrival to make sure they felt their best, I got to spend the rest of the weekend watching and cheering this fantastic team smashing their goals, tracing clean and slick all weekend to finish 10th in the world, and helping Team GB to 🥉place in the nations rankings. Super proud to support this team with regular massage treatments to help keep their dogs sound, comfortable and able to strut their stuff on the world stage 🤩 I also got the chance to check out some new therapies with the EQUUSIR boxes and beds on display. And massive thanks to Olivia Cosy Canines - Fully Licensed Home Dog Boarding, Bury St Edmunds for looking after my boys so well while I was away.

I’m excited to announce that I am now an official reseller of Magnetix products.

Why I do what I do…

I’ve always been that animal mad child, always begging for my own pony or dog, stroking any that I saw, and spending whatever time I could with them. When I left school I knew I wanted to base my career around this passion, but wasn’t sure the best way to do it. After gaining my BSc(hons) in equine studies and trying a few diffrent options I fell into stud work, working on top TB studs. While I loved working with these wonderful horses, the desire for a better work life balance lead me to look elsewhere after 10 years. Having always found the veterinary side interesting, I sidestepped into a vet assistant role at a racing/ sport horse orientated practice.

By this point I had my 2 border terriers and had started competing regularly at agility. Then Covid hit, and as most of us did, I began to reassess what mattered, and what I wanted in life. With my older dog slowing down, and starting to show signs of arthritis, and my younger dog picking up an injury I began looking into how I could help then to both be more comfortable, and how best to help Bramley return to competition and stay injury free going forwards. It’s then I began exploring the benefits of massage, and the possibilities of working in a more flexible way while helping keep horses and dogs comfortable, fit, and mobile to live life to the full.

Now a fully qualified equine and canine massage therapist, I can help you see the improvements I’ve seen in my own dogs, DM to find out more.

More CPD this weekend, this time learning about applied kinesiology and muscle testing. This technique can help find areas of imbalance in the animal, which may be more subtle, and guide which therapeutic technique to use.
CPD and continued learning is so important and valuable to allow me to be able to increase my toolkit, continue to grow as a therapist, and to be the best I can be to help my clients horses and dogs.
