With his sleek hound frame, glossy coat, and deep soulful eyes, Dio is every bit as stunning as he is sensitive. He was found as a stray, and while life left him a little unsure, he’s blossoming into a loyal and gentle companion.

At first glance, Dio can seem shy. He often hangs back, watching quietly until he feels safe enough to approach. But once he decides you’re a friend, he shows his true nature — gently touching your hand with his nose for fuss, curling up nearby, and enjoying the comfort of your company. He really does love to be close once that bond is formed.

Dio sometimes shows his nerves by gently growling at people from a distance when he feels unsure — especially around younger children. This isn’t aggression, but simply his way of asking for space. In fact, he can go from hanging back and growling to curling up beside you for cuddles once he feels safe. Because of this, we feel he will do best in an adult-only home, or with calm, older, dog-savvy teenagers.

He isn’t a high-energy dog and loves his naps, but he will thrive with regular walks, gentle guidance, and a calm home that lets him build confidence at his own pace. He’s also learning to feel secure when left in a crate for short periods, but ideally he would suit an older adult or couple who aren’t out for long stretches.

Look at our Leo! How amazing to see this from Saving Souls Animal Rescue who helped us to find Leo such a wonderful home.

I hardly ever get to meet the adopters and the dogs that I help, but Saturday was a very special day 🥰 ….Heather brought Saved Soul Leo on the train and bus to meet us at West End Woofs 🥰

Heather adopted Leo a couple of months ago and he’s been getting on fabulously! They are a perfect match! Leo is such a gentle soul, I loved meeting him. I’m sure if he was up for adoption there would be a few wanting to take him home that day 😉

Leo has had a hard life having been found with a broken leg. He’d obviously been cared for in the past as he was neutered. He has been rehabilitated in Cyprus and we found him a home after he’d waited for 2 years in rescue.

Saturday was such a wonderful day at West End Woofs, such positivity and promise, which we don’t always feel when we are drowning in dogs to promote.

He’s the bigger of the two brothers, and he wears the role well: bold, confident, goofy, and absolutely brimming with joy. From the minute you meet him, Bandit’s all in — tail wagging, ears flopping, and heart wide open.

He’s the kind of pup who will happily clamber onto your lap for cuddles… only to bounce off again 30 seconds later for another round of zoomies. A bit of a showman, a total lovebug, and always planning his next move.

Bandit thrives around people and enjoys the company of other dogs too. He’d suit a home that’s fun, affectionate, and ready to welcome a little chaos with their cuddles.

𝗦𝗠𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗬 🐾
𝗔𝗴𝗲: 𝟰 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 • 𝗧𝗼𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 • 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝘂𝗯 𝗳𝗮𝗻 • 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿

Smokey may be the smaller of the duo, but don’t underestimate him — this soulful-eyed sweetheart is quietly brilliant.

Lean and whippet-like, he’s a calm, independent little guy who adores his toys almost as much as he loves belly rubs. He’ll happily take himself off to a corner, curl up with his favourite toy, and drift off to sleep with it still tucked under his chin.

He’s gentle and affectionate with humans, always grateful for a head massage or some quiet company. With other dogs, though, he’s a little more complex — particularly with his brother Bandit. Smokey can be possessive over food and toys around other dogs, so for now, we’re recommending he be rehomed as 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗴, until further assessment.

He passed his food test with humans with flying colours — no growling or guarding at all — just those big eyes and waggy tail.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful companion, full of gentle character and calm cuddles, Smokey might just be your guy.

Two cheeky brothers with a name that says it all — and already turning heads at Joanne’s with their zoomies, cuddles, and cartoon-level personalities.

They’re around 𝟰 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱, recently rescued, and now safe, fed, and figuring out how to be pups again. One’s a calm, toy-loving sweetheart. The other? A bouncy goofball who hasn’t met a lap he didn’t love.

Early this morning, 𝙒𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙖, 𝙆𝙞𝙩𝙆𝙖𝙩 (now Milah), and 𝙎𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 (now Odin) began their journey to the UK — the final three from the litter of nine to head to their new families.

It’s been a long journey for this group, and we’re proud to have seen it through from start to finish.

It all began when 𝙅𝙤𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙚’𝙨 𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙙, 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭, heard a tiny cry coming from a bush and found a 10-day-old puppy — now known as 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙋𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙨. Not long after, the rest of the litter were found nearby. From that moment on, Joanne 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭 𝙜𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙥𝙪𝙥𝙨 for over eight months.

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢.

We’re also incredibly grateful to JCDR, who supported the rehoming of the full litter — helping us match the pups with wonderful families and manage the full adoption process, including travel.

‼️ URGENT & SHOCKING SITUATION ‼️
💔 20 Dogs Trapped in Hellish Conditions 💔
We need emergency help — now.

This morning, our team attended a truly horrific scene alongside police and veterinary services.

After a previous intervention where 14 dogs were confiscated, another 20 dogs have been found trapped in heartbreaking conditions.

They are:
🩸 Filthy
🐾 Injured
😨 Terrified
🦟 Crawling with fleas
🧫 Infected
💔 Completely shut down from neglect

We’ve taken the 5 most vulnerable puppies — they were at immediate risk — but we simply have no capacity to take more unless help arrives fast.

💥 One of our team, Kiveli, was bitten trying to rescue them. She left covered in filth and scratches… and still went straight to the vet.

That’s what rescue looks like. But we cannot do this alone.

🧺 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲! 🧺

Our four tiny survivors were found 𝗱𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗻, barely a week old.
Unfortunately, one of them was just too sick and didn’t make it 💔
But the remaining four — 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 — are growing stronger every day thanks to the 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗰𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝘂𝗺, 𝗞𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶.

In 15 days time they will go for their first vaccines and are already beginning to be weaned on to wet food.

🚨 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 – 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗗𝗢𝗚𝗦 🚨

After years of rescuing and fostering dogs in our own homes, we’re taking a 𝗛𝗨𝗚𝗘 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 for Elysium Animal Rescue.

𝗞𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶, our incredible rescue partner, has taken in more dogs than any of us—turning her home into a lifeline for so many abandoned souls. But now, her landlord has decided to sell the house… and that means she has no choice but to move. 💔

She can’t take all the dogs with her.

But out of this crisis comes a powerful opportunity.
We’ve been offered a chance to rent a block of 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀 at a private boarding shelter—𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 that will be ours alone to use.

🏡 A small haven.
🐾 Just for our rescues.
💛 Cared for daily by Kiveli, who will be moving nearby to continue loving and looking after them.

But we can’t do it without your help.

Great news to be able to share!

We were worried that she would be the last one left behind after all her brothers and sisters had found their new homes. But Wispa is on her way to the UK next month, and one step closer to her forever family. 🥳❤️

I won’t be able to make it to the animal rights protest in Limassol tomorrow — but I really wanted to be there.

Even though I now live in Paphos, I lived in Limassol for 7 years and still see it as home. Molos has always been one of my favourite places, and I’d planned to be there tomorrow to join the protest.

Unfortunately, I’ve been unwell these last couple of weeks and still not well enough to attend.

So I’m sharing this post to show my support — and to ask anyone in or near Limassol who can go, to please turn up and be counted.

The protest is about the ongoing lack of enforcement of animal welfare laws in Cyprus. It’s peaceful, it’s organised, and it’s the first of a series happening monthly across different cities.
