We do not take every dog that asks for a place. And that is exactly why the ones who stay here are comfortable.

Before a first stay, we ask a few things. How your dog behaves around other dogs. What happens when you leave the room. Whether there is something that frightens him, and how he shows it.

None of these questions has a right answer. A dog who struggles with other dogs is not a problem, it just means the stay has to be organised differently.

What we are trying to avoid is the opposite: a dog arriving here and finding a situation nobody prepared for.

That conversation is the reason most stays go well from the first day.

Bald liegt wieder Streusalz auf den Wegen, und das merkt Ihr Hund zuerst.

Salz trocknet die Pfoten aus und kann die empfindliche Haut zwischen den Ballen reizen.

Manche Hunde fangen an zu humpeln, andere lecken staendig an den Pfoten.

Was hilft, ist einfach. Nach dem Spaziergang die Pfoten mit lauwarmem Wasser abspuelen und gut abtrocknen, auch zwischen den Zehen.

Und darauf achten, dass der Hund die Pfoten nicht ableckt, solange noch Salz daran ist.

Bei uns gehoert das zur Routine, den ganzen Winter ueber. Jeder Hund, jeden Tag.

Christmas still feels far away. The dates do not.

Every year the same thing happens. The week between Christmas and New Year fills first, followed by the days right before Christmas, when most families travel.

There is also something people often forget. If your dog has never stayed with us, we ask for a visit before the booking. That is not a formality, it is how we make sure the stay works for your dog. And arranging it takes time.

Which is why December is really decided in October.

The autumn holidays are here, and the house is full.

Every dog staying with us this week was booked weeks ago. That is not a sales line, it is simply how a small house works.

We keep the group small on purpose. It is the only way to know each dog properly, to notice when one of them is off, and to give the quiet ones the space they need.

So when we say places are limited, we mean it in the most literal way.
