Paws and Claws Animal Rescue has been rescuing animals since February 2015. Many of our rescues come in as strays from poor living conditions from places in the surrounding areas. We take the time to assess each animal both mentally and physically before putting them up for adoption. Once the animal has been rescued, we place them into a foster home that is the best fit for him/her. Without our fo

Today, we invite you to visit us between 12-4 at 40 Second Avenue North, where our cats and kittens will be waiting. Whether you are looking to adopt a new pet or simply want to stop by, we welcome you. Not looking for a new furry companionat this time, but still want to support or rescue? Meet Zane, he just lives to love people. He is so in your face you might have to lock him out of your bedroom while you are sleeping because he is so affectionate he may keep you awake with just how close he wants to be with you. Zane loves all the attention, and would thrive in a family with small children who would haul him around with them. I'm sure he would love to have his very own little girl to push him around in a stroller and share treats with her at her tea parties. Zane came in with 4 other siblings, and they were all just the sweetest kittens. He is the last of his litter left in rescue and we are unsure why he hasn't been scooped up yet. Zane is good with other cats, but we are unsure how he is with dogs. Zane will soon be neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date until July 24th, 2026. If you are looking for a tag along best friend for your children (or yourself) Zane may just be the purrfect boy.

Meet Cogsworth, he is a mix of love and fun. He is always on the go and ready to play. Cogsworth loves when you chase him or throw toys for him to chase. He also loves to carry toys around in his mouth.
Cogsworth LOVES people, and he proudly shows his love of people with his loud and continous purring. He is purring before you even have him in your arms. Cogsworth gets along with other cats and kittens, but is apprehensive when it comes to dogs. He would probably be fine given time and slow introductions, because he is still young. But he isn't going to instantly love them. Cogsworth will soon be neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date until July 24th, 2026. If you are looking for a companion who will keeping you laughing with big smiles Cogsworth may just be your boy.

Meet Florence, while we call her grumpy grandma, she isn't really grumpy, but she is a grandma. Florence came into rescue with 4 babies, who have all been adopted some time ago. She initiates her interactions with a loud hiss, then she sinks into her cat tree basket where she finds the most comfort. Florence is easily picked up and will allow pets. She is timid, but never aggressive or unkind. Florence is a beautiful cat looking for a quiet home where we are certain when given time and a constant sense of being safe she will flourish into a loving companion. Florence is spayed, microchipped and her vaccinations are up to date until June, 2026. She has been in rescue for over a year now, and we would love to see her find a quieter loving home to spend her forever in. If you are looking for a cat that isn't super needy and is just happy to have a place to lay her head Florence may just be the girl for you.

Meet Kreacher, another favorite at the adoption center, why because he's amazing. This ultra handsome tabby boy is big, and when we say big, we mean it. His size may not be apparent when you interact with him in his cat condo, but you can really appreciate his size when you pick him up. He's huge, long and heavy but is the absolute sweetest, most calm guy. A true definition of a teddy bear. Kreacher is neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date until June 28th, 2026. Kreacher is nothing short of an amazing companion. He gets along with other cats and shows indifference towards dogs. He loves humans, and his calm demeanor shows he would be amazing with kids too (small children might not be able too lift him up..lol) He would fit perfectly into any home with or without more animals. If your looking for a calm, large cuddle buddy Kreacher just may be the perfect fit for you and your family.

Meet Drake, this big guy enjoys a sunbeam sleep in the window, probably on his back. His goofy personality shines through his toothy grin when he's chasing his favorite toys. Drake is super playful and loves toys and treats. He can be found running up and down a scratching tower or half on, half off his pillow bed. Drake is neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date until June 2026. While Drake is very fond of humans and human interactions his fondness of companionship doesn't extend to other furry friends. Drake is not good with other cats at all. He will actually aggressively attack other cats, potentially causing them or himself harm. He absolutely needs a home without other cats. While his compatibility with dogs is unknown to us, we assume it would be similar to what it is with cats. Ideally Drake will be adopted into an only animal home. Or a home where he has enough space (maybe as a shop cat) where he doesn’t have to be in close contact with other animals when he doesn't want to be.

Miss Gojo, an intelligent, friendly girl with all the best traits. Gojo came into rescue when she was under 2 weeks old and quickly became one of our precious bottle babies. She came in with 3 more siblings, but she is the only one still in rescue. Gojo is the epitome of a perfect pet. She gets along with everyone and anyone. She likes dogs, cats, rabbits, kids, absolutely everyone. She is playful and fun, she loves balls and can often be found with one in her mouth that she is carrying around. She is spayed, microchipped and her vaccinations are up to date until May 2026.
Gojo is the best of both worlds, she is still a playful kitten with all her adult growing and vetting completed. So what you see is what you get with Gojo. She has lots of energy so ideally Gojo would be adopted into a family with kids and more animals where she will get loads of love and attention. Gojo is a true beauty and a favorite at the adoption center. Often you can find a "baby" with Gojo as she loves kittens and instantly gets along with anyone. If you want a purrfect girl to add into your home, someone your little girl can dress up in doll clothes (and she'd enjoy it) Gojo just might be your girl.

Meet Hotel, a winsome, loverboy who delights in being showered with attention and affection. Hotel is a calm, sweet boy who enjoys time in his cat tree basket. He is neutered, microchipped and his vaccinations are up to date until August 2026. This ginger boy is playful and affectionate, while he does have a curious and adventurous side as well, where he loves exploring new environments. As you can see in his photo collage he is more interested in coming for pets and attention than having his picture taken. You have to quickly snap one of him before he sees you coming to him, because he just wants all the love.
Hotel has been around other cats and seems to be okay with proper introduction and time. We are currently unsure how he feels about dogs. While Hotel seems fine with other cats and we expect with proper introductions he would be fine with dogs, we expect Hotel to easily fit into any family dynamic he is invited into. Hotel is great with kids and would be one who you would find cuddled up on the end of someones bed, or possibly snuggled up right beside them on their pillow.
If you're looking for that purrfect companion who will love you from sun up to sun down Hotel just might be your guy.

Meet Ladybug, a resilient, diva queen with a personality that screams main character energy. Lady bug is not a "first cat owner" cat, she needs someone who will understand her 'exotic' personality. While Ladybug can be a snuggly, cuddly loving cat, she will also remind you when she doesn't want any attention with a swat or a not always gentle bite. We believe for this reason Ladybug would be best in a home with no children, or children who have have been around strong personality cats or are older.
Lady Bug was desperate for food and if you can believe it, SKINNY when she was rescued. The vet believed she was a nursing mother, though no kittens were ever found. Since being rescued, spayed, and cared for, Lady Bug has gained weight, a little too much weight. While we now have her on weight management food, ideally she needs a home where she can also get a little more exercise.
She very much dislikes dogs and is not comfortable around them. It is very likely Ladybug will be a bully towards other cats, although she does tolerate some cats, ideally ladybug will be adopted into an only pet home.
So if you're looking for a laid-back, calm companion who won't keep you up at night climbing your curtains. Someone who will just lay beside you while you watch your favorite shows and try to share your popcorn and snacks. Ladybug just might be your girl.

Tate McRae is just like her namesake - she is a powerful little Canadian gal with a big voice! Tate was found abandoned all by herself. We don’t know what struggles she has faced but she remains sweet and good-natured. She is very social and is great with other dogs, cats and kids. She is used to busy households as she is fostered with a bulldog, 2 mini-dachshunds, 4 kids and 5 cats. Her favourite thing to do is play hard, and then sleep hard. She also likes being outside and will happily nap on a warm deck or little bed. She loves tug-o-war and wrestling. This little girl is smart and already knows how to spend the night in her kennel without making a peep. She also loves being on your lap to take a nap. Her age is estimated to be 8 weeks and she has had her first set of shots and deworming and microchipped.🐕‍🦺❤️🙏
