$70 exam fee + $15 Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) fee for Pugs, Bulldogs and French Bulldogs$70 exam fee for all other breeds
Calling all breeders/owners of Pugs, Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, and all brachycephalic breeds!
Please join us for our RFGS clinic on October 25, 2025, in Campbellville, Ontario! The screening program is currently open to Pugs, Bulldogs, and French Bulldogs, and all brachycephalic breeds are welcome to participate. Pugs, Bulldogs, and French Bulldogs are eligible for OFA certification and all breeds tested will receive an exam report at this time.
Participating in the RFGS clinic has a number of benefits for you and your dogs including: Reducing the incidence of producing puppies affected by BOAS by screening your breeding stock and including the results in your selection criteria.Increasing your understanding and awareness about the Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) condition.Allowing you to share the results with prospective puppy buyers.Joining a growing number of breeders of brachycephalic breeds who are taking an active role in enhance their breeding programs.
Your participation also helps to grow the RFGS clinics to become one of the routine tests done in Canada and has broader benefits including: Allowing CKC to share how RFGS clinics are growing with government and industry stakeholders.Growing the number of qualified RFGS examiners by ensuring that new shadowing veterinarians can examine an adequate number of dogs with varying grades, in order to gain experience and proficiency in the RFGS before becoming OFA approved.Enabling robust data collection that will support the development of ongoing research on brachycephalic breeds at England’s University of Cambridge.

CKC is privileged to partner with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) to bring the RFGS to Canada. CKC launched the first clinic in March 2023, and we look forward to announcing further events this year. We will continue to work with the breed clubs for the Pug, Bulldog and French Bulldog and collaborate with key stakeholders to promote and preserve the health and wellbeing of all purebred dogs, including brachycephalic breeds.
