Ask the Pet Nanny: What happens at a meet & greet?
Meet & greets are a quick visit (usually 15 minutes or less) before I start services so everyone can meet, get familiar, and make sure we’re all comfortable 🐾
For your pets — especially dogs — it gives them a chance to meet me before I’m just suddenly showing up in their space.
For you, it’s a chance to meet me too so you know exactly who will be in your home and spending time with your pets.
It’s also the easiest way for you to show me anything I need to know:
where the leashes are, feeding routines, medications, how to get in, where your pet supplies are kept, and anything else that’ll make visits go smoothly.
For overnight clients, it’s also when you can show me where I’ll be sleeping and anything I need to know while I’m staying in your home.
I do meet & greets for all new clients — no exceptions.
Even if I’m only stopping in to feed a fish, I’m not showing up to anyone’s house blind. I like to know where things are, how everything works, and make sure everyone’s on the same page before services start.
And most importantly: it’s very low pressure.
It’s not an interview, nobody’s being interrogated, and I’m not there to judge your home. It’s just a quick chance to make sure I have the information I need to take good care of your pets — and for you to ask me anything you’d like 💛
