They made it home 🤍

Not long ago, Lenny and Fig were just trying to survive.

Left behind in an abandoned home with nothing, they came into our care unsure, guarded, and carrying the weight of what they’d been through. Even then, their bond was undeniable. They had each other.

Fast forward to today.

They’re exploring their new home like they’ve always belonged there.
Following their people to bed.
Waiting at the door in the morning for cuddles.
Watching birds from the window like it’s their full-time job.

“They are so, so sweet… we are so impressed with how personable they are… it honestly feels like they’ve been part of our home forever.”

That’s the part people don’t always see.

With the right home, patience, and love…They don’t just adjust, they THRIVE.

Lenny and Fig got their second chance together. Exactly how it was meant to be.

And because of that, we now get to help the next one.

You may have noticed that we have 3 very BEAUTIFUL and deserving black cats in our care that are being overlooked, simply by their colour.

Black cats are some of the most loving, loyal, and affectionate companions you’ll ever meet yet they’re often the most overlooked.

For generations, myths and superstitions have painted black cats in an unfair light. But the truth? They’re just as playful, gentle, and full of personality as any other cat often forming incredibly strong bonds with their humans and loving nothing more than curling up close for cuddles.

Sadly, because of these outdated beliefs, black cats are usually the last to be adopted and the first to be passed by. They wait longer, even though they have just as much love (if not more!) to give.

At Friends of Murphy’s Animal Rescue, we see firsthand how special these beautiful cats are. We invite you to open your heart, look past the myths, and discover the warmth, companionship, and unconditional love a black cat can bring into your life. We have a black cat and she is pretty darn perfect.

Left behind. No food. No water. Still full of love. 🤍

Meet Lenny & Fig.

These two were abandoned in a rental home and left to fend for themselves. When the property was accessed, it was in terrible condition… with a ripped open bag of rice they were trying to survive on.

And somehow, despite everything, they are incredibly loving.

🐈‍⬛ Lenny (5-7)
Neutered, vaccinated, confident and affectionate. A gentle protector who keeps a close eye on his little sister.

🐈‍⬛ Fig (3-4)
Spayed, vaccinated, outgoing, and full of love. She’ll greet you with headbutts and happily soak up all the affection you have.

When they first arrived, they were scared. But their need to love and be loved brought them out of their shells quickly. Watching that has been something special.

These two are very bonded and will be adopted together. They’ve already lost their home once, we’re not letting them lose each other too.

Meet Frank 🤍

He wasn’t supposed to make it easy on anyone.

After being left behind with nothing… no food, no water… just trying to survive however he could, Frank learned to be cautious.
And honestly…Fair.

But here’s the part that gets you…
Once he realizes you’re safe, everything changes.

He softens. He leans in. He rolls over like, “okay… maybe you’re my person.”

Frank is that cat. The one who makes you earn it a little…Then gives you everything.

• Around 3 years old
• Neutered & fully up to date on vaccines
• Best in a calm, quiet home
• Happy solo or with one other cat (or a chill dog).

He doesn’t need a busy home. He needs the right one.

If you’ve got a bit of patience and a lot of heart… Frank will meet you there.

This handsome little fella is still looking for a home. Percy was discovered in the forest with his 3 siblings and mother nearby (deceased 😢). He's cuddly and sweet. He's in a loving foster home with other cats so he would do best in a home with a feline companion.

He is around 4 month's old, us up to date on vaccinations and neuter and microchip (to be done later) is included in the adoption fee.

Our first rescue kitten Kevin ~Now Zuko found his forever home 🐾 From the moment he arrived,he was nothing but love. Sweet, gentle, and a complete cuddle bug, he never passed up the chance to curl up and snuggle. He loved with his whole heart and brought so much joy into our home. Saying goodbye wasn't easy, but watching him instantly bond with his new family reminded us why we chose to rescue. Our first rescue will always hold a special place in our hearts. 💛 Good luck in your new home Zuko.
