Hi, I’m Christine (owner of The Northern Collar Club) professional dog walker & trainer. I'm someone who has dedicated my life and career to dogs and the people who love them.

I believe obedience training shouldn’t just be effective, it should also be affordable and attainable for everyone who wants to build a better life with their dog. That’s why I pour my heart, my time, and my knowledge into every single class I teach.

Congratulations to our Intermediate Class Graduates! ✨🎓

Tonight we celebrated an incredible group of dogs and their dedicated humans as they wrapped up their Intermediate Training!

This crew truly put in the work! Practicing those distance, duration, diversity and distractions on down/sit holds, mastering waits and stays, and working calmly around other dogs. They took their teamwork to the next level, learning advanced skills like heel, working on front, and tuck, all while strengthening their communication and connection.

The bond between each dog and their person was so beautiful to watch over these weeks. I couldn’t be prouder of you and your pups. Congratulations to everyone! 💛🐾

So proud of this little superstar! 🌟 In just a couple of months, this dog has gone from beginner to impressively reliable at her off-leash heel. She now understands “heel” as the motion walking calmly beside me and I use “get in” as the cue to return to position if she straying and to sit if we’ve stopped. (You can use the cue heel for the position but Millie understood best by breaking it into two cues)

Today I walked her completely off-leash practicing her heel, with six other dogs around, no treats and no lures, just trust, practice, and teamwork. 🐾

We only really started working on this skill in May, and she’s already come so far. This is what consistency looks like. Training isn’t magic, it’s showing up, practicing the right way, and building a bond your dog can rely on.

✨ Do we still struggle in some areas? Absolutely. Around a crowd of people, she sometimes forgets everything she’s learned. But that’s okay, with patience, consistency, and showing up for your dog, you can build something amazing together.
