At Lacroix Aquaponics, we believe community is built through sharing, learning, respect, and understanding. Today we want to highlight the beautiful and important children’s book “I Know I Belong” by Sherri Lynn Gobeil.

This heartfelt story shares the journey of an Indigenous child taken from her family during the Sixties Scoop—a painful chapter in Canadian history when thousands of Indigenous children were removed from their homes, families, and cultures. Through honesty, hope, and resilience, this book helps young readers understand identity, belonging, loss, and healing.

Learning these truths matters. It helps us raise compassionate children, honour survivors, and create stronger communities rooted in respect and reconciliation.

We encourage families, schools, and readers of all ages to support Indigenous authors and voices by adding this meaningful book to their shelves.
