A couple of weeks ago, the incredibly talented Hayley Laidlaw came over to take some photos of Accio Preacher.

Wow, wow, wow! 😍 Hayley, you are so talented — thank you for capturing these beautiful memories.

Preacher is growing so fast, and I know it won’t be long before he’s a full-grown boy. It all happens way too quickly! Having these photos to remember him just as he is right now means so much to me. ❤️

In between the calm moments, there were definitely a few zoomies 😅 but somehow Hayley still captured pure magic.

And the flowers… 🌸 I absolutely love them. You captured not just Preacher, but the feeling of my home so beautifully.

I’m so grateful for my home and everything it represents. Looking through these photos made me feel incredibly thankful.

Thank you again, Hayley — I will treasure these memories forever. ❤️🐾🌸

Simba came in for a bit of an overhaul—working on impulse control, self-control, and learning that sometimes we think first and react second! 😂

This boy is a ball of energy and enthusiasm, which can occasionally get him into trouble with his “react now, ask questions later” approach. 😉

We worked on some tips for better obedience, along with confidence-building agility exercises to help give Simba an outlet for all that energy.

And of course, Simba and his man-friend Kyle worked together on building their relationship, communication, and teamwork—and had a whole lot of fun doing it! ❤️🐕

At Dog Scents Training, we love helping dogs and their people find better ways to communicate, learn, and succeed together.

What a great way to wrap up our Wednesday Evening Group Training sessions!

I’m incredibly proud of all the dogs and handlers who joined us. Watching each team take the skills they first learned in their private one-on-one sessions and apply them in a group setting with real-life distractions was fantastic to see.

Some teams found certain exercises more challenging than others, but with clear communication, patience, and a return to the strong foundation they built together, everyone made progress. That’s what good training is all about.

From building confidence and control on the agility equipment, to introducing Rally signs, and reinforcing the foundation of obedience, every team stepped up and gave it their best.

Thank you to everyone who came out, worked hard, and trusted Dog Scents Training with your dogs. It was a very successful group session, and I look forward to seeing everyone continue to grow together!

Meet Accio Preacher! ❤️

This little man has been a ball of enthusiasm since the day he came home, and he’s definitely been keeping me on my toes!

He’s an absolute joy to work with… minus those needle-sharp puppy teeth! 😂 I can safely say there are a few new holes in my clothes already.

He just loves life, and that enthusiasm shines through in everything he does.

A special thank you to James Siler for hooking me up with Isabel Klaehn of Accio Malinois. From the day he was born, I had my fingers crossed that the little white-footed boy would be mine. Waiting to find out if he’d be coming home with me felt like forever!

Yes, I hope to step onto the competition field with him in a few years. But honestly, that’s not what fills my cup. It’s the daily training, building the relationship, working through the challenges, and watching those little lightbulb moments happen. That’s where the real reward is for me.

I’m lucky enough to already have the best German Shepherd for me in Ofra. She still trains with me every single day and continues to teach me just as much as I teach her. She’s made me a better trainer, and our journey together is far from over.

Now I get to start a whole new adventure with this awesome little Malinois. I’m excited to see what he teaches me, the different approach he’ll require, and the new challenges we’ll tackle together.

Here’s to the journey, little man. Let’s get to work. ❤️

Huge congratulations to Ellora and Dreampools Lightening Strikes CGN, WRDN, CD! 🏆🇨🇦

Last weekend, after an enormous amount of hard work and dedication over the past year, this team earned their second leg toward their CDX title!

It takes a special kind of commitment to reprogram a dog emotionally, and Ellora has done exactly that. Through patience, consistency, and trust, she’s helped Electra discover that working with her is rewarding and fun. Watching their relationship grow has been incredibly rewarding.

I couldn’t be more proud of this team and everything they’ve accomplished together.

One more leg to go! 💪

And to top it all off, Electra is now the #1 Obedience Newfoundland in Canada! 🇨🇦❤️

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years today.
I love how you’re still such a constant part of my life.

It has been such a blessing watching you grow into the amazing, special pups you are today.

You both bring so much joy, and I’m so lucky to have been part of your journey. ❤️🐶
