Dogs should never be unleashed unless their recall is excellent under any circumstances ie: it only takes a second to go chasing a cat or squirrel etc. If they don't stop in their tracks when called do not let them off leash unless in a fenced secured area. So many posts indicate their dog is lost now and they never usually go far and always come when called. "Usually comes when called" is not good enough it only takes one time and they are gone and lost or even worst they run out in traffic !
Makes me sad to read these kind of posts.

His CKC papers arrived last week.
