Jojo is the newest addition to one of our long time clients and at just 10 weeks old, she's already mastered the 'treats please' puppy dog eyes. She came in for her first visit to restock on some more age appropriate all natural chews like braided gullets! So far she's a big fan of our behind the counter treat stash (as all our doggo friends are) and we're excited to see her grow!

Bug season is in FULL swing in Southwestern Ontario 🐜🦟🕷️

…and yep—ticks aren’t just a “deep woods” problem anymore.
Real talk: we know of a pet who picked up a tick in their own backyard (right here in Ontario, 2025). So if your dog is doing zoomies in the grass or your cat is sunbathing on the deck, it’s worth having a simple plan.

Here’s a warm-and-easy checklist before you buy:
-Dog or cat?
-What’s their weight range?
- Any sensitivities (skin, tummy, allergies)?

A few helpful options we carry + love for this time of year:
Monthly topical protection (species + weight matter!)
Non-toxic pest repellent sprays for dogs, bedding and anywhere your dog hangs out (great for humans too)
“Wash off the outside” support after adventure days (grass, trails, muddy paws)

That ingredient list is LONG… but should it be? 👀

A longer list doesn’t automatically mean “better”… and a short list doesn’t automatically mean “clean.” What matters is what’s on it (and why it’s there).

Here’s the key thing most pet parents don’t realize: ingredient lists are written in order from most → least (by weight, before cooking). So the first few ingredients tell you what the food is mostly made of. 👇

If those top ingredients aren’t clearly named animal proteins (and you need a chemistry degree to decode the rest) 🚩

And here’s a label-reading trick more people should know: the salt divider 🧂

What is it?
Salt is usually added in a tiny amount — so ingredients listed after salt are typically there in very small amounts.

Why it matters:
Those trendy add-ins (blueberries, spinach, turmeric, etc.) that show up after salt? Often more “marketing sparkle” than meaningful nutrition. Not always bad… just usually not the reason the food is good.
Bottom line: focus on what’s before salt (that’s where the real nutrition foundation lives). 🙌

87,563 fur kids photo's and counting—this is what our camera roll looks like. All of us. Definitely passionate about pets and fur families, and honestly? We're obsessed 24/7, not just when we're at work.
