s and Whiskers and I'm super excited to share my love of all things pets and handmade for pets with you! I’m Kitty Mom to Winnie, our Chief Toy tester here at Wiggles and Whiskers. She is a very fun and funky black, DSH polydactyl rescue cat... She has 7 toes on each of her front paws and 5 each on her back paws. We live in an almost 100-year-old home, in the great little community of St. Jacobs in Southern Ontario. We also have a growing wholesale side of Wiggles and Whiskers where we sell dog toys, accessories and signature designed bandanas.

It's about this time of year when the requests start to increase for care for cats during summer vacations. Now seemed like a good time to take a deep dive into the importance of daily visits for cats. 😺

This is sweet 'Ocean' showing off her new custom embroidered bandana. Isn't she the cutest!? Her Mom requested pink fabric, and out of the options I presented this is the combination she chose..... just perfect for Ocean's colouring. She's all set to hit the beach, a BBQ or maybe shopping with Mom! 🥰

Jessi is pretty much the happiest dog I've ever worked with. Each day when I come to walk her she greets me with a full body tail wag and she bounds out the door ready to explore! Today we enjoyed all of the many beautiful Trilliums in the forest near her home. This is her first spring in Canada so I felt the need to point out their beauty and the importance of peeing elsewhere. 😉

Does anyone else remember believing as a kid that the police would come after you if you picked a Trillium, being that it is Ontario’s official flower and everything? I think my parents even told us that we would be fined $100 (that's no small chunk of change to an 80's kid)!

I was grateful to have this cutie join me in the beautiful sunshine on our walk today and celebrate St. Patrick's Day! I have predominantly Irish ancestry, so it's great to see Koda share my love for Ireland! 🍀🇮🇪😀

Even though my dog walking schedule has been busier than usual this week, I can't think of a more adorable and calm pup than Nova, to be the reason for it. Apart from her very enthusiastic, full-on 'wiggle butt' greeting each day, the slow, leisurely pace of our walks has turned out to be a welcomed 'slow down' time for me. It is times like these that I'm glad that I don't fill up my schedule 100% because it allows me to fit 'occasional' dogs like Nova into my schedule.

This annual observance honours professional pet-care providers, seeks to educate the pet-owning public about the advantages of professional in-home pet care, and encourages pet-loving entrepreneurs to explore professional pet sitting as a viable career.

🐾 Let Them Sniff & Watch! 🐶
Walks aren’t just about exercise—they’re about exploration! Dogs experience the world through their noses and their eyes. Allowing your pup to stop and investigate scents, watch squirrels, or observe people isn’t just fun—it’s mentally enriching and helps reduce stress.

Think of it as their version of reading the news! A few extra moments to sniff a tree, watch kids play, or take in the sights makes for a happier, more fulfilled life for a dog.

Yesterday, Koda was completely mesmerized by watching the process of this backhoe being loaded up onto a trailer.... heck, he even made the construction workers smile with his interest in what they were doing!

So the next time you're out, let your dog pause, sniff, and take it all in. They’ll thank you for it! 🐕💛
