🩷 SWEET PHOEBE | A LITTLE SOMETHING SPECIAL
Well, I guess it’s time to officially introduce my sweet Phoebe to the sales page. 🥹
Some of you have caught glimpses of this girl, but she’s actually been hiding out in my personal paddock for the last couple of months. 🫣
I’ve been quietly enjoying her myself and, if I’m being truthful, I’ve been a little reluctant to list her.
Unfortunately, I only have one butt and I can’t keep them all.
Sometimes it’s just nice to hang on to one a little longer and enjoy everything they have to offer.🥰
A lot of you know I’m not typically a mare person, but this girl has stolen a little piece of my heart. ❤️
Meet Phoebe!
Phoebe is a 12-year-old Warmblood cross mare standing approximately 15HH, with the sweetest personality. She’s always standing at the gate looking for her person and genuinely loves attention.
She’s pretty easy to get attached to!
Phoebe is well broke in the arena, with a lovely walk, trot and lope, a nice stop and some buttons. She has a good mix of whoa and go, although she can be a little forward in her working trot and lope. We’ve been working on rating her speed, and she’s made leaps and bounds!
She’s equally enjoyable on the trails. 🌲 Confident and willing, she’ll head through the bush, go where you point her and isn’t bothered by branches brushing against her or dogs popping out of the trees.
Even our 11-year-old daughter rides Phoebe! That being said, she isn’t necessarily a beginner’s horse. She has some get-up-and-go and can be quicker in her gaits, so she’s best suited to someone with a little experience who can confidently manage her pace. She’s a fun ride, and I’ve always felt 100% safe on her.
Phoebe has attended shows in the past, participating in Western trail, horsemanship, pleasure, showmanship, barrels and poles. These days, we feel she’d be happiest enjoying a more relaxed pleasure and trail riding lifestyle.
In the interest of full transparency, Phoebe has a small, old tendon bow that you’d hardly notice unless it was pointed out. It hasn’t caused us any issues with the type of riding we’ve been doing with her.
A little about her breeding!
Phoebe is grade (unregistered), but we were told she’s an Arabian/Warmblood cross, reportedly by Gixter, whose dam was Whisper van de Hermitage, with bloodlines tracing back to Indoctro and Major de la Coeur. We haven’t been able to fully verify her pedigree, but it’s still pretty neat to know a little about the bloodlines she may carry!
✅She’s good for the farrier, ties and cross-ties, is up to date on vaccinations and deworming, and had her teeth floated a few days ago.
The right home means everything to me. ❤️
I’m looking for someone who wants a lovely pleasure and trail riding partner, who will appreciate her personality and give her the relaxed, loving home she deserves.
She’s not being offered as a lesson horse or for a busy program. I’d love to see her find her own person who will enjoy her as much as I have.
Phoebe will only be offered to a carefully selected home, and I’m in absolutely no hurry to part with her. 🩷
