🚩 Couple of important updates for my current clients 🚩

1) I'm transitioning to a web based business portal where scheduling, client profiles, pet profiles, and forms will all be digital and in one location. I eventually hope to open up the scheduling tool for clients to use, but that feature will remain closed for now. Unfortunately, all of the paper copy client intake and consent forms I received cannot be scanned and uploaded to the system, so I'll be emailing a link to you all over the next couple of weeks to get those filled out. Once you submit the form it will automatically link to your client profile.

2) While setting up my new online system, I have noticed that some client pets are not fully vaccinated (ex: Bordetella, aka kennel cough) so I've had to create a new liability form for all clients to complete and sign. Each individual is entitled to their personal feelings about vaccinations and I don't judge, but as there are 2 dogs living in this home and multiple dogs coming in and out, there is a risk to any unvaccinated dog (this is a risk that the client should already be aware of through conversation with a veterinarian). I disinfect all tools and workspace but vaccinated dogs can still carry and transmit disease.

3) In Ontario, the only vaccination that is required by law, is the Rabies vaccine. Please ensure that your Rabies vaccine boosters are up to date and that you have a copy of the vaccine passport/proof of vaccination from your vet. I will be emailing you the link to the new "pet vaccination policy & liability waiver" forms to complete and you will need to upload your proof of vaccination during one of the steps . Any booked appointments without proof of Rabies vaccination prior to appointment, will unfortunately be cancelled to ensure I am in compliance with the law, as well as for my health & safety, the health & safety of my 2 fur babies and the health & safety of all other dogs who visit the grooming salon.

Had this pretty girl for a visit yesterday. Layla the mini Golden Doodle. At 9 months old she was amazing with nails and so very patient during the whole grooming process.

**Please note that she had been spayed and then ate a sock and required surgery prior to our scheduled appointment at the beginning of February so she does still have the shaved belly and shaved spots on her front legs but also had some matting in various areas which meant I had to go short on some spots and attempt to blend as much as possible..**

Great news everyone!!!

I will be resuming grooming services on a 1 day per week basis as my mom has volunteered to doggy-sit my 2 babies in her home. Grooming was never a full-time thing for me, but I am hoping to resume a more normal schedule once my 6 month old pup gets passed this adolescent fear stage that he's in.

I will be alternating between a week with a weekday appointment date (for those that can come during the week), and a week with a weekend appointment date (for those that can only come during weekends). The 1st appointment date will be Wednesday February 25th. The 2nd appointment date will be Saturday March 7th, and so on.

As I had cancelled a few appointments, I will be contacting those individuals directly to re-book before taking any new appointments. After that, please ensure that you book ahead of time to guarantee yourself a grooming spot as they will be limited (I may consider doing some mobile appointments if I cannot keep up with the demand of my current clients).

I'm sorry for the confusion and truly appreciate your continued support. 🙂

**Also, please note that I had to review and update my old prices. After 1 month of running the salon, the old low prices were simply not feasible due to the added cost to utility bills as well as the purchase of supplies and equipment maintenance.**

Happy 1st birthday to my fluff nugget Rosie 🎂🎉

She sure has taught me the art of having extra patience this past year as she was quite the handful. She has really calmed down and started to show she is entering her adulthood these past couple of months though.

After Bella passed away, Rosie was the reason I got out of bed in the mornings and I'm so thankful that we found each other. ❤️

Good day all, it is with a heavy heart that I must let you all know that I've decided not to continue with the grooming salon. As my salon is in my home, it has caused stress on my own 2 dogs, and in turn, they've been acting out. I had hoped that they would have adjusted by now, but unfortunately, they are getting worse.

I truly appreciate the support that you've given me in this journey, and I'm truly saddened that I am closing my doors.

Tip of the week: Choosing a Groomer

When choosing a groomer, you will have choices between large corporate chain grooming businesses, mom and pop type shops, and single owner run salons. The differences between the three are as follows:

1) A large corporate chain grooming business will have many employees. They provide standardized services and usually run as high speed and high volume (15+ dogs daily)

2) A mom and pop shop is independently owned and often family run. They could have a handful of employees. They usually offer more personalized one-on-one services and often operate in a more relaxed, community focused environment.

3) A single owner run salon is where the owner handles all aspects of the business, such as customer service, cleaning, and grooming. This provides a more personalized one-on-one service, all while the pet enjoys a more stress free environment.

There is no right or wrong between the above 3 when it comes to choosing your groomer. A few factors might affect your decision, such as price, distance, and appointment availability, but in the end, it should come down to personal preference, and what you feel is the best environment for your pet.

This guy came for a grooming visit today. This is Max , he's a Pomapoo. He was very interested in napping the entire grooming appointment. The last picture was the inspiration. I'm hoping as I learn more sc******ng techniques in my course that I can get him closer to that but his hair isn't typical Pomeranian or Poodle hair, it's very silky, kind of like Shih Tzu hair.

This is Baby, she's Minnie & Mickey's little one and also Chunk's sister. Don't let the photos fool you. She is teeny tiny and weighs 3.5 lbs. Isn't she adorable 🥰
