Meet Dr. Kathryn Wallace – Large Animal Vet! 🐴🐄🐑
Dr. Kathryn Wallace, DVM, has recently celebrated her first year with our Large Animal team!
Dr. Wallace grew up in Lower Sackville and first fell in love with horses while working as a stable hand and riding instructor. That early passion turned into competitive success in the hunter and jumper rings — and ultimately, a career in veterinary medicine.
She earned her BSc(Agr.) with a minor in equine science from Dalhousie Agricultural Campus (formerly NSAC) and completed her DVM at the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI. Throughout her training, she developed a deep interest in both equine sports medicine and the care of production animals.
Now back home in Nova Scotia, Dr. Wallace brings her knowledge and compassion to the field — from horses to cows, sheep, and beyond. Her special interests include preventative care for all and sports medicine for performance horses.
When she’s not on the road, you’ll find her at home with her fiancé, Carson, their dog Diesel, and their cat Sandy — likely baking something delicious or working on a needlework project. 🧁🧵
As a new graduate from the class of 2024, Dr. Wallace is excited to build lasting relationships with her clients and patients here at Fundy Vets.
