Looking for a unicorn? We know one. 🦄
Turns out unicorns have a mind of their own. ✨
After 215 days in our care with very little interest, we found ourselves asking the question…
How has Chloe not found her family yet?
She’s calm, playful, ridiculously gentle, wonderful with people, and has a special softness for little humans. Maybe it’s because she’s been a mom herself, but Chloe has always had this incredible patience and kindness with kids.
Whether you’re heading out for an adventure or settling in for a quiet night on the couch, she makes being a good dog look effortless.
Around here, we call dogs like Chloe unicorns. 🦄
The kind of dog everyone says they’re looking for… but somehow keeps getting overlooked.
So we thought maybe a little city spotlight would help Chloe find her people. She headed south to one of our amazing partner rescues in Edmonton.
Well…
Chloe had a different plan. 🤣
Instead, she embarked on her own tour of Edmonton, rode out a summer thunderstorm, and by morning was happily waiting at the front door like:
“That was fun… but I think I’ll take my comfy bed back now.”
While her city adventure was much shorter than expected, it wasn’t without a little magic.
Chloe spent the afternoon making a new friend in Roadisha, who travelled all the way from Jamaica to begin her own Canadian adventure. One Caribbean girl, one northern Alberta girl… somehow they found each other. ❤️
(And because the universe clearly likes to keep things connected… turns out Chloe and Roadisha have something else in common — they’re both trained by me. 🤣)
A huge thank you to our incredible rescue partners and volunteers who jumped in to help our little adventurer get safely back home. Rescue is never a one-person job, and we are so grateful for every person who helped Chloe along the way.
And her welcome home crew?
Hank was more than happy to hop in the truck and welcome his buddy back. It was pretty clear he missed her. 🥹
As far as Chloe is concerned, she’s made one thing perfectly clear…
Her family is waiting somewhere around Grande Prairie.
And after this week’s adventure…
We’re starting to think she’s right. 🦄❤️
Now we just need to find the people who have been looking for a unicorn.
