3 Quick Tips To Make Your Next Vet Visit Easier!

Trips to the vet don’t have to be stressful! With a little planning, you can help your pup feel calmer and make the whole experience smoother for both of you. Here are three simple ways to set your next visit up for success:

1️⃣ Check in before bringing your dog inside
When you arrive, park and leave your dog in the car while you let reception know you’re there, this helps avoid the extra stress of hanging out in the waiting area. After the appointment, you can take your pup back to the car before going inside to pay.

2️⃣ Bring something to keep them occupied
Waiting can make dogs restless or anxious. Pack a frozen Kong, chew, or another quiet activity to help keep your pup relaxed while you wait. It’s a simple way to turn downtime into calm time.

3️⃣ Keep it positive and go at their pace
Pack some extra-special treats to help your dog associate the vet with good things. Take your time and let them approach new spaces or people when they’re ready. Moving at their pace helps build lasting trust and confidence.

💡 Bonus Tip:
If your dog really struggles to walk through reception or around other pets, ask your clinic if they have a back-door entrance, many do! A quick chat with your vet team beforehand can make a big difference.

Puppy season forever!! ❤️‍🔥

Sadie is joining us to complete our private puppy package to gear up for her transition from puppyhood to adolescence.

Her family has done such a great job of starting her off on the right paw, and now we’re getting to work on skills like loose leash walking, settling around distractions, and calm greetings to ensure Sadie gets to do all the fun things as she grows.

That transition from sweet, snuggly puppy to independent teenage dog can be tough, but it’s totally normal! This stage is where consistent training really pays off, helping your pup grow into the confident, well-mannered adult you’ve been working toward. The earlier you lay the foundation, the smoother it all goes.

It’s hard to believe I’m already saying this, but our books for 2025 are almost full! 🤯

If you’re hoping to get training in before the holidays, we have very limited availability — get in touch soon! 👇

Miss Nellie is joining us to complete her Starter Package! ✨

This sweet girl has officially entered the teenage phase — and if you know, you know 😅

Just like human teens, dogs go through a hormonal shift as they grow, usually between 6–18 months.

During this time, you might notice:
➡️ Forgetfulness of previously learned cues
➡️ Shorter attention spans
➡️ A little extra independence
➡️ Stronger reactions to new sights, sounds, and other dogs

It’s completely normal! Their brains and bodies are changing rapidly, and they’re learning how to navigate the world.

How we can help them through it:
✅ Keep training short, positive, and consistent
✅ Reinforce “good” choices
✅ Provide plenty of enrichment and exercise
✅ Stay patient, this phase does pass!

Stay tuned to watch what we teach Nellie, we have something fun planned for our next lesson! 🤭

Sweet Toby joining us for some behaviour modification to help make the world a little less overwhelming. 💛

For some dogs, everyday life can be A LOT. Busy streets, outside noises, unexpected visitors, or changes to routine can quickly become overwhelming.

Toby, like so many other dogs isn’t being bad, stubborn or dramatic. He’s trying his hardest to cope in a world that doesn’t always make sense to him.

Which is where us (and Toby’s vet) come in!

Together we will be working on helping Toby to feel safe and confident, and work on better coping skills for when the world does get a bit too spooky.

Stay tuned to for this sweet dudes updates!

Fall is here and that means puppy season!

We’re excited to be welcoming so many puppy teams into our private puppy program over the coming weeks, today we’re introducing Rupert the poodle and Maisie the havanese. ❤️‍🔥

Both of these puppies guardians decided to hit the ground running with puppy training and I can already see it paying off!

One of the biggest misconceptions I see with puppies is waiting until they are older or fully vaccinated to start training. Learning starts the minute our dogs come home with us, and that’s exactly when we should start laying a strong foundation of trust, communication, and life skills.

If you’re welcoming a new puppy this fall we have space for ONE more team to join us in the fun!

Welcoming sweet Mabel to our private puppy program 💕

Undoubtably one of my favourite parts of my job is helping guardians raise confident, easy to live with companions.

Puppyhood and adolescence bring their own set of unique challenges, but starting training as soon as possible and learning how to communicate with one another goes such a long way.

If you’ve done puppy training with me you know something I am VERY big on is giving puppies the skills to be successful in our human world. If we are constantly focusing on correcting our puppies for things like puppy mouthing we are missing the opportunity to teach them what they should do INSTEAD.

This is critical for our little potatoes.

I want puppies to know that if they want to be mouthy and silly, there’s a toy for that!

I want puppies to know that sitting and waiting “patiently” is a great way to get access to yummy treats, instead of launching themselves at the counter or screaming at me.

The goal is to give puppies alternatives to undesirable behaviors, creating clear expectations, and making good choices rewarding and fun.

Stay tuned for more updates on Mabel’s journey—I can already tell she’s going to be a star! ⭐️

We’re excited to have Tiger rejoining us to complete our basic starter behaviour program. We’ll be helping him and his guardians navigate some big feelings which are manifesting as fear & reactivity in Tigers day to day life.

Reactivity is a common challenge for many dogs. It often shows up as a dog who is barking, lunging, snarling, or freezing when they see another dog, person or other trigger. While reactivity can feel stressful to deal with from both ends of the leash, it is NOT a dog being “bad”, “disobedient”, or “stubborn”, it’s their way of expressing fear, discomfort or even frustration when a situation feels overwhelming.

Through positive reinforcement techniques and step by step training, Tiger and his guardian will be learning new coping skills, management techniques to prevent reactions, and building his confidence in the world.

If you have a “big feelings” dog, you’re not alone - we’re here to help! With the right support, training can make a world of a difference.

Welcoming baby Zuma who is joining us to complete our private puppy program.🤓

This sweet pup is already off to a fantastic start, thanks to her dedicated guardian who’s hitting the ground running with training.

Starting training early is one of the best ways to build a strong foundation, and set both you and your puppy up for success as they grow up.

We can’t wait to watch her grow and learn! 💛

Miss Ellie is joining us to complete a private Puppy Package! ✨

At just over 4 months of age, Ellie is starting her journey from puppyhood into adolescence. This is a crucial time for building confidence, setting our dogs up for success, and reinforcing all the important foundation skills she'll need to grow into a well-mannered adult dog.

We’re so excited to work alongside Ellie and her guardian to guide them through this stage with consistency, management, and plenty of positive reinforcement! 💛

Welcome, Ellie! 🐶💫

We’re thrilled to introduce Sage, who’s joining us to kickstart their Behaviour Starter Package! 🌟

Our starter package sets the groundwork for positive behaviour change, ensuring both you and your dog feel more confident tackling everyday scenarios together.

Reactivity to certain triggers like other dogs, strangers, or loud noises is a challenge MANY dog guardians face. Reactivity often stems from fear or frustration, causing behaviours like barking, growling, lunging, or attempting to flee.

We specialize in helping reactive dogs like Sage learn how to stay calm and confident in different situations. Through structured training and positive reinforcement, we guide both dog and owner to better communication and more peaceful outings.

If you’ve got a dog who struggles with reactivity, don’t worry—help is just a training session away! 💪
