Harper’s story is one that has touched all of our hearts. 💛
Just days after walking alongside his dad, Sean, at Relay for Life, Harper was diagnosed with cancer. This weekend, our team had the privilege of removing his malignant mast cell tumour, and we’re happy to see him recovering at home.
We’re honored to be part of Harper’s journey and are wishing him a smooth recovery as he continues his fight with the love and support of his family by his side.
This photo was taken today — day two of Harper’s recovery.
Just over a week ago, Harper walked in Relay for Life in Rothesay with his dad, Sean, as part of something deeply personal.
Sean is a cancer survivor, and this year he had the honour of being the guest speaker at the Relay rally in Rothesay, NB. Harper was right there with him, doing what Harper does best: showing up, making people smile, and reminding everyone that love is often the thing that carries us through.
Then, one week later, Harper was diagnosed with cancer too.
On Monday, we got the news. On Saturday, he had surgery to remove a malignant mast cell tumour. And now, just like his dad Harper is in his own fight.
It’s hard to find the words for that kind of full-circle moment.
At WWICI, we talk a lot about courageous conversations, resilience, belonging, and building cultures where people don’t have to carry hard things alone. This is one of those moments that brings all of that home in the most real way.
Because courage isn’t always loud. Sometimes it looks like walking beside someone you love. Sometimes it looks like getting up after a diagnosis. Sometimes it looks like a big, gentle dog sitting in the sunshine on day two of recovery and reminding us why we keep showing up.
For Sean.
For Harper.
For every survivor.
For everyone still fighting.
And for the people who walk beside them. 💛
